Adlerian Relationship Coaching School: Coach relationships from the inside out
Master Alfred Adler's time-tested framework — belonging, private logic, encouragement, and social interest — and bring structured, soul-level coaching to individuals, couples, families, and every relationship in between. Taught by a licensed Adlerian therapist, Army chaplain, and Doctor of Ministry who has applied this work in the hardest rooms imaginable for over 20 years.

"When you understand that every relationship struggle is really a struggle to belong and to matter, you stop trying to fix people — and start helping them find their way back to themselves."
— Robert Caruso

Robert Caruso
If you're reading this, I'm guessing you already know that most people who come to you for help with their relationships aren't really struggling with communication. They're struggling with something older and quieter than that — a belief they formed about themselves before they had the words to name it, a pattern they've been living out so long it feels like personality. You've probably sensed that. You may not have had a framework for it yet.\n\nThat's exactly what Adlerian psychology gave me — and what I want to pass on to you.\n\nI came to this work through multiple doors: as a licensed therapist, as an Army chaplain who sat with soldiers and families in some of the most acute relational pain a person can face, and as a student of ministry who kept asking why human beings, even with the best intentions, keep hurting each other in the same predictable ways. Alfred Adler's answer to that question — that we are always, in every relationship, striving to belong and to matter — is the most practically useful idea I have ever encountered. It explains almost everything I see in a coaching room.\n\nWhat I've built in this school is the training I wish I'd had earlier in my practice. We start with the foundations — social interest, belonging, significance, the wound of discouragement — because without those, the rest of Adlerian psychology is just vocabulary. Then we go deeper: into lifestyle assessment, private logic, early recollections, birth order dynamics. These are not abstract concepts. They are the living architecture of every client who will ever sit across from you.\n\nFrom there, we work on encouragement — not the cheerleading kind, but the precise, purposeful Adlerian kind that builds courage where discouragement has hollowed it out. We look at conflict through an Adlerian lens, including the four goals of misbehavior that show up in couples and family systems. And we practice structuring goal-focused coaching conversations that are grounded in theory and immediately usable.\n\nI designed this school for coaches, clergy, therapists, educators, and anyone else who is already in the room with people and wants to be more effective in it. You don't need a clinical license to benefit from this material. You need curiosity, a genuine care for the people you serve, and a willingness to go beneath the surface. If that's you, I'd be honored to be your guide through this work. Come in.
