Make Better Films with AI
Master the AI tools reshaping every stage of production — from script to screen — and build the kind of indie filmmaking workflow that used to require a much bigger budget and a much bigger crew.

"Every tool I teach you gets the same test: does it actually serve the story — or does it just look impressive in a demo?"— Jonathon Kendall

A note from your teacher
Jonathon Kendall
Hey — if you're here, I'm guessing you've already noticed that something is shifting in this industry. Maybe you've seen a low-budget short with VFX that shouldn't exist on that budget. Maybe you've watched an AI-generated storyboard pitch that looked more polished than your last lookbook. Maybe you just keep hearing "AI" in every filmmaking conversation and you're not sure whether to lean in or wait it out.
I get it. When new technology arrives this fast, it can feel like you're supposed to stop everything and become a tech person. That's not what this course is. I'm a filmmaker, and I built this for filmmakers. Everything you'll learn here is grounded in one question that I ask about every tool, every technique, every shortcut: does this serve the story? If it doesn't, we don't spend time on it.
What we do spend time on is the full production pipeline — because that's where AI is actually making a difference. Script development, storyboarding, pre-visualization, dialogue cleanup, sound design, scoring, editing, color, visual effects. I'll walk you through each stage, show you what the best current tools can genuinely do, and be straight with you about their limits. You'll build your own AI toolkit that fits your workflow, your budget, and your creative voice — not a generic setup that looks good in a tutorial but falls apart on a real shoot.
I also want to be honest about something that most AI courses skip: the ethics and the creative ownership questions are real, they're unresolved, and they matter. We're going to look at them directly, not tuck them into a disclaimer at the end. How you use these tools, and why, is part of what makes you a filmmaker worth taking seriously.
By the time you finish — including the capstone short film — you won't just know how to use today's tools. You'll have the critical eye to evaluate whatever comes next. The industry is changing fast. I want you to be the person in the room who knows exactly what to do with that.
