Devin Bryant

If you've found your way here, I'm guessing you've had at least one moment recently where someone — a grandchild, a colleague, a news anchor — mentioned AI, and something inside you thought: I really should understand what they're talking about. Maybe you felt a flicker of curiosity. Maybe you felt a flicker of dread. Most likely, you felt both at the same time. I want you to know: that is exactly the right place to start.

I built AI Made Simple because I kept noticing a gap. There were plenty of AI courses out there — but almost all of them were written for people who already speak the language of tech. They're full of acronyms, they assume a certain comfort with screens and keyboards, and they move at a pace that leaves a lot of thoughtful, capable adults feeling like they must be missing something. You're not missing anything. The courses were just never written for you.

This school is. Every lesson in this curriculum is written in plain English, anchored in comparisons to things you already know, and paced so that understanding has time to settle before we move on. You'll start by telling me — through a short placement quiz and goal-setting survey — exactly where you're starting from and what you actually want to accomplish. Then the lessons adjust to meet you there. You'll set up your screen your way, with whatever font size and visual settings make reading comfortable. And you'll practice on real tasks: writing a message to a loved one, asking a health question safely, learning something new about a hobby you care about. Nothing hypothetical. Nothing just for the sake of it.

I also want to be straightforward with you about something: AI is genuinely useful, and it is also genuinely imperfect. It can get things wrong. It can be used by bad actors to spread misinformation or run scams. You deserve to know all of that — clearly, honestly, without alarm — so that you can use these tools wisely and confidently. A whole section of this school is devoted to exactly that: staying safe, staying skeptical in a healthy way, and knowing when to trust what you read and when to dig deeper.

What I hope you feel, by the time you reach the final lesson, is not just that you "know about AI" — but that you've genuinely made it yours. You'll have a tool or two you actually like using, a habit that fits naturally into your day, and the steady, earned confidence that comes from learning something real on your own terms. You did that. I just kept you company along the way. Come on in — I'm glad you're here.
