Get hired as an auto service advisor — and know what you're doing on day one
Auto Advisor Ready is the no-fluff certification built for people who are serious about the service desk — covering real shop language, real hazards, and the customer skills that separate the top 10% from everyone else.

I built this course to tell you the honest version of the job — because getting blindsided in week one is optional.— Leigh Baumann

What you'll learn
What you'll be able to do
- Walk into a service advisor interview fluent in the real terminology technicians and service managers actually use on the floor.
- Pass the HireMark Level 1 Certification exam (40 questions, 80% threshold) and own a credential that belongs to you — not your employer.
- Identify the safety hazards and fireable craft errors that catch new advisors off-guard, and know exactly what to do if you've already made one.
- Handle the first 10 seconds with a customer, read the question under the question, and de-escalate a frustrated client without a script.
- Explain good/better/best service options confidently, know where gross profit lives, and position upsells the way top advisors do naturally.
- Recognize the daily habits that separate average advisors from the top 10% — and map your personal path from L1 Certified to L4 Manager.

Leigh Baumann
Here's what I've seen happen too many times: someone smart and motivated walks into a service advisor role — or into an interview for one — and gets blindsided. Not because they weren't capable. Because nobody told them what the job actually is before they showed up.
They didn't know the language. They'd never heard the terms techs and managers throw around on the floor without explanation. They hadn't thought through how to handle a customer who's frustrated before they've even finished their sentence. They didn't know that certain craft errors are fireable offenses — or what to do if they'd already made one. I'm not talking about obscure edge cases. I'm talking about the stuff that trips up new advisors in week one, over and over.
I built Auto Advisor Ready because that gap doesn't have to exist. Everything in this course is the honest version of the job — what it pays (real numbers, not recruiting copy), why people quit, what's genuinely hard, and what you can do right now to make sure you're not one of the cautionary tales. I've skipped the padding and the theory. If it doesn't help you get hired, perform, or advance, it's not in here.
What you'll leave with is real: the HireMark Level 1 credential that belongs to you no matter where you work, the vocabulary to hold your own on the floor from day one, a practical map of the customer interaction from first greeting through service presentation, and a clear picture of what the career ladder actually looks like — from where you are right now all the way to service manager.
If you're a career changer, a recent grad, a shop-floor worker ready to move up, or a current advisor who wants more than just experience to show for your time — this is the course I wish had existed when I started. Let's get you ready.
