Provides Adult Basic Education programming through evidence-based, individualized virtual instruction on Essential Education, Aztec Learning, and Google Classroom. Learners build foundational academic skills across literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and self-directed learning strategies, leading to measurable Educational Functioning Level (EFL) gains. This academy serves as the entry point and prerequisite pathway for learners advancing to the GED Success Academy or Workforce Development Academy.

Baseline GED Success Academy
Prepares adults to pass all four GED® test modules and earn their high school equivalency credential. Delivered via GED Academy platform with weekly live tutoring sessions, structured test-taking strategy instruction, and GED Ready® practice testing at the midpoint and end of the program. Prerequisite: completion of the Adult Education Academy or TABE scores demonstrating readiness at the GED instructional level. Sequenced after the Adult Education Academy to ensure foundational literacy and numeracy are in place before test-prep begins.

Baseline English Language Academy
Develops English language proficiency for multilingual adult learners across all four domains — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — using Burlington English as the primary platform. Instruction progresses from receptive skills (listening and reading) to productive skills (speaking and writing) and culminates in Workforce English, where language is applied to career-readiness contexts. Outcomes align with recognized BEST Plus 2.0 or CASAS proficiency gain benchmarks. This academy operates as a standalone pathway and as a co-requisite support for learners in the Adult Education or Workforce Development Academies.

Learners build every component of a professional employment portfolio — resume, cover letter, interview skills, job-search strategy, and soft-skills credentials — and exit with documented career credentials and employment placement support. Prerequisite: Digital Literacy Academy (basic computer and email skills) or concurrent enrollment. Sequenced after the foundational academies to ensure learners can apply literacy, numeracy, and digital skills in a career context.

Baseline Tutor Academy
Recruits, trains, certifies, and provides ongoing coaching for volunteer and paid tutors serving all BOLI academies. Delivers a comprehensive tutor certification curriculum grounded in adult learning theory, evidence-based instructional strategies, digital tutoring tools, legal and ethical compliance (FERPA), cultural competency, and formal assessment and progress monitoring. Graduates earn a BOLI Tutor Certification recognized across all Institute academies. Sequenced to be completed before tutors begin working with learners, with coaching and progress monitoring continuing throughout their service.

If you've ever felt like the education system wasn't built with you in mind — your schedule, your language, your starting point, your life — I want you to know that BOLI was built as a direct response to that feeling.
I've seen what happens when adult learners are placed in programs that treat them like younger versions of younger students. The pace is wrong. The examples don't connect. The support disappears when things get hard. And people who are genuinely capable — people who have already survived and navigated more than most — walk away believing the problem is them. It isn't. It never was.
At the Baseline Online Learning Institute, we started from a different question: what does a motivated adult actually need to move forward? The answer showed up in every part of our seven academies. It means beginning with a real assessment — TABE, CASAS, or a GED diagnostic — so your learning plan reflects your actual skills, not a default. It means teaching reading through reciprocal strategies that build independence, not just comprehension scores. It means walking through a FAFSA line by line, practicing a real job interview answer, navigating a spreadsheet in Excel, or having a Conversation Lab where English actually gets spoken out loud.
