If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're tired. Not just physically tired — though that's probably true too — but tired of feeling this way and not knowing why. Tired of praying and feeling like the ceiling is made of concrete. Tired of sitting in a church pew and wondering why everyone else seems fine when you feel like you're quietly drowning.

I want you to know: I see you. And more importantly, God does too.

I created Breaking Free because I kept encountering the same heartbreak — sincere, faith-filled people who were suffering deeply and felt they had to choose between the church and the counselor's office, between Scripture and practical help. They'd been told to "just pray more," or they'd been handed a clinical diagnosis with no spiritual framework for what it meant. Neither felt like the whole truth. I believe there is a better way — one that holds the Bible and honest, grounded tools in the same hand.

This course is built on the conviction that God is not offended by your darkness. David wrote laments so raw they would make most of us uncomfortable. Elijah collapsed under a tree and asked to die. Jeremiah wept so persistently he was called the weeping prophet. These were not failures of faith. They were human beings in honest relationship with a God who met them in the dirt — and that same God is ready to meet you there too.

What you'll find inside Breaking Free is a journey, not a quick fix. We'll start by naming what's actually happening — spiritually, emotionally, even physically — because depression rarely has just one root. Then we'll move into the practice of lament, which may be the most underused healing tool in the entire Christian tradition. We'll work through the thought strongholds that keep you stuck, discover how rest and worship are genuinely therapeutic, and build you a daily renewal routine that is yours — shaped by your life, your season, and your relationship with God. And before we're done, we'll make sure you have a real plan for the hard days still ahead, because resilience isn't the absence of dark seasons — it's knowing what to do when they come.

You don't have to have it together to start. You don't have to feel hopeful yet — that's what we're building toward. All you need is a willingness to take the next step. I'll walk with you every step of the way.
