Finally understand why you keep ending up here

A warm, science-backed journey through the psychology of repeating relationship patterns — using Eckhart Tolle's concept of the pain-body and the power of present-moment awareness to help you recognise, interrupt, and gradually replace the cycles that have cost you so much.

What you'll learn

What you'll be able to do

  • Explain, in your own words, why the unconscious mind recreates familiar painful relationship dynamics — and name the specific mechanisms at work, including Eckhart Tolle's concept of the pain-body.
  • Identify your own personal relationship blueprint: the early experiences that formed your template for love, and the 'types' and situations you are unconsciously drawn to repeat.
  • Recognise your pain-body in real time — notice when old emotional pain is being triggered, and distinguish between a present-moment reaction and an echo of the past.
  • Apply present-moment awareness (the 'Now', as taught by Eckhart Tolle) as a practical circuit-breaker: observe a painful reaction arising without being swept away by it or acting it out.
  • Spot your own early-warning signs of a repeating cycle — the felt sense in the body, the familiar pull toward certain dynamics — before the pattern fully takes hold.
  • Use a concrete set of daily practices — naming the pain-body, choosing presence over reaction, self-compassion, and small consistent steps — to consciously build healthier relationship patterns, supported by an understanding of neuroplasticity.

Who it's for

Is this you?

The self-aware repeater

You can see the pattern clearly from the outside but feel powerless to stop it from the inside — this course gives you the 'why' behind that gap.

The Tolle curious

You've heard of the pain-body or The Power of Now and want to understand how these ideas actually apply to your relationships in a practical way.

The therapy explorer

You're not in therapy right now — or not yet — and want a thoughtful, grounded place to begin making sense of your emotional patterns.

The family pattern holder

The cycles you most want to break aren't romantic — they're with parents, siblings, or your own children, and you're ready to trace them to their roots.

The therapy companion

You're already working with a therapist and want additional material — concepts, frameworks, and daily practices — to deepen and support that work.

The quietly exhausted

You're not in crisis, just quietly tired of the same emotional weight, and you want a kind, unhurried space to finally understand what's been driving it.

If you're here, I'm going to guess something: you're someone who reflects. You've probably already asked yourself the hard questions — "Why do I keep ending up in the same situation?" or "Why do I react that way, even when I know better?" You're not looking for someone to blame, you're looking for a real explanation. I made this course for you.

I know how disheartening it can feel to recognise a pattern in yourself and still feel powerless to change it. To meet someone new and feel that familiar pull — exciting and unsettling at the same time. To have the same argument, the same silence, the same falling away. And to wonder, quietly, whether something is just wrong with you. I want to say this clearly, right at the start: there isn't. The patterns you repeat are not character flaws. They are learned responses, shaped by experiences that made perfect sense at the time. Understanding that is where real change begins.

What I've tried to build here is the course I wish had existed when I was first trying to make sense of my own repeating stories. It brings together the psychology of how early relationships shape our 'template' for love — the blueprint we carry unconsciously into every new connection — with Eckhart Tolle's remarkable concept of the pain-body: the accumulated emotional hurt that can wake up in intimate moments and take the wheel before we even know it's happened. These two ideas together, I find, explain so much that previously felt mysterious or shameful.

But understanding on its own is only half the work. The other half is learning to catch yourself — in the moment, in your body, before the pattern fully takes hold. That's what the practical side of this course is for. We'll look at how to recognise your own early warning signs, how to use the gap between a trigger and your response as a genuine circuit-breaker, and how to build new habits of awareness that — thanks to what neuroscience tells us about neuroplasticity — can actually change the grooves your brain runs in. Small, consistent, and kind to yourself. That's the pace this course asks of you.

I want to be straightforward with you: this is not therapy, and I won't pretend otherwise. What it is, I hope, is a warm and honest companion for the work of understanding yourself — the kind of conversation that leaves you feeling clearer, less alone in it, and genuinely more capable of something different. Come as you are. You don't need any background in psychology or Tolle's work. You just need the curiosity that brought you here. That's more than enough to begin.
