A note from your teacher
Pauline Smith EdD
If you are reading this, you are probably already doing executive-level architecture work — designing integration strategies, navigating governance committees, presenting modernization business cases to leadership — and you are aware of the gap between what you know and what the organization can see that you know. That gap is a credentialing problem, and it is exactly the problem this program was built to close.
I have spent my career at the intersection of enterprise architecture and executive leadership — working through the frameworks, the governance models, the board presentations, and the hard lessons that come when an architecture decision is challenged by an audit committee and you need measurable evidence to defend it, not a diagram. What I have learned is that the discipline separating a competent enterprise architect from a credible executive architecture leader is not technical depth. It is the ability to translate every architectural decision into business outcomes, governance accountability, and strategic foresight — and to defend that translation under pressure.
This program is built around that discipline. We do not spend time re-explaining TOGAF or rehearsing framework vocabulary. We use those foundations to build something that matters: a complete executive portfolio that includes a live API governance framework, a technology risk register aligned to cybersecurity standards, an executive KPI dashboard, and a five- and ten-year EA roadmap that you can walk into a boardroom and defend. Every module is designed to produce a real deliverable, reviewed against the standards a review board or executive sponsor would apply.
The culmination of the program — the Brown Tech Executive Competency Verification — is a live simulation before a review board. You present your portfolio. You defend your governance decisions. You communicate your interoperability and modernization strategy in real time. I designed it this way deliberately, because a credential that has not been pressure-tested is not a credential worth earning.
If you are ready to close the gap between the work you are doing and the recognition that work deserves — and to come away with a portfolio, a credential, and a boardroom posture that reflects the leader you already are — I am ready to challenge you to earn it.
