Building Your Business English Foundation

Every strong career begins with a confident foundation. This module introduces learners at all levels — beginner through advanced — to the core vocabulary, phrases, and social conventions that power everyday professional life in English. Students establish a personal baseline, learn how to assess their own level, and build the essential communication habits that all later modules depend on. Completing this module first ensures no learner is left behind regardless of their starting point.

  • 1.1Know Where You Stand: Assessing Your Level and Setting Career GoalsIncluded
  • 1.2Your First Day: Essential Workplace VocabularyIncluded
  • 1.3Introducing Yourself and Your RoleIncluded
  • 1.4Navigating Greetings, Small Talk, and Professional CourtesyIncluded
2

Professional Written Communication

The written word is permanent — it represents you when you are not in the room. This module trains students to write with the precision, tone, and professionalism that English-speaking clients, managers, and partners expect. Lessons progress logically from the most common written format (email) through longer documents to the highest-stakes written task (the business proposal). Grammar and tone correction are woven into every lesson so that writing quality improves continuously rather than in isolation.

  • 2.1The Grammar and Tone Toolkit for Professional WritingIncluded
  • 2.2Writing Emails That Get ResultsIncluded
  • 2.3Reports, Memos, and Business DocumentsIncluded
  • 2.4Proposals and Persuasive Business WritingIncluded
3

Speaking Up: Meetings, Presentations, and Negotiations

Spoken English in high-stakes group settings — meetings, presentations, and negotiations — is where careers are made visible. This module builds the spoken fluency, strategic language, and composure that allow professionals to contribute, lead, and persuade in English with confidence. Lessons are sequenced from participation (the lowest-pressure spoken context) through leadership to negotiation (the highest-pressure), building skill and confidence progressively.

  • 3.1Pronunciation and Spoken Clarity for ProfessionalsIncluded
  • 3.2Participating and Leading Business MeetingsIncluded
  • 3.3Delivering Presentations That Command AttentionIncluded
  • 3.4Negotiating in English: Strategy, Language, and ComposureIncluded
4

High-Stakes Workplace Conversations

Some workplace conversations carry real consequences — for your career, your relationships, and your professional reputation. This module prepares students for the most emotionally and linguistically demanding one-on-one and small-group conversations in the English-speaking workplace. It builds directly on the spoken language and composure skills from the previous module, applying them to specific high-pressure scenarios. A lesson on managing language anxiety is added as a prerequisite, because confidence is as much a skill as vocabulary.

  • 4.1Managing Anxiety and Thinking on Your Feet in EnglishIncluded
  • 4.2Performance Reviews and Feedback ConversationsIncluded
  • 4.3Handling Difficult Clients and ComplaintsIncluded
  • 4.4Salary Negotiation and Career Advancement ConversationsIncluded
5

Business Vocabulary, Idioms, and Industry English

Vocabulary is the currency of professional credibility. This module expands students' active business vocabulary far beyond textbook basics — into the idiomatic, industry-specific, and strategically sophisticated language that marks a true professional. Lessons are sequenced from universal business idioms (relevant to all learners) through sector-specific language to the executive-level strategic communication vocabulary that opens doors at the highest career levels. A lesson on vocabulary acquisition strategy is included so students can continue building vocabulary independently for life.

  • 5.1Decoding Business Idioms and Figurative LanguageIncluded
  • 5.2Finance, Sales, and Technology VocabularyIncluded
  • 5.3Leadership and Strategic Communication LanguageIncluded
  • 5.4Building Your Vocabulary for Life: Independent Learning StrategiesIncluded
6

Culture, Etiquette, and the Unwritten Rules of Global Business English

Language alone is not enough — the most fluent non-native speakers can still misread a room, offend unintentionally, or feel perpetually like an outsider if they do not understand the cultural operating system beneath the English words. This module gives students the cultural intelligence and social fluency to thrive — not just survive — in English-speaking business environments worldwide. Lessons cover Western business culture, professional social settings, digital communication etiquette, and the capstone skill of building a self-directed lifelong learning habit. Crucially, this module honours and contextualises students' own cultural backgrounds rather than replacing them.

  • 6.1Understanding Western Business Culture and Communication StylesIncluded
  • 6.2Business Dining, Networking Events, and Social EnglishIncluded
  • 6.3Digital Communication Etiquette: Chat, Video Calls, and Social MediaIncluded
  • 6.4Building a Self-Paced Learning Habit for Lifelong Business English GrowthIncluded

Who it's for

Is this you?

Early-career professionals

Just starting out in an international company, they need the foundational workplace vocabulary, email skills, and small-talk confidence to make a strong first impression from day one.

Mid-level managers

Leading teams and reporting to English-speaking directors, they need to run meetings, write credible reports, and hold performance conversations without losing authority in translation.

Client-facing executives

Negotiating deals and building relationships with international partners, they need the strategic language, composure, and cultural fluency to close business — not just communicate.

University students

Preparing for internships or graduate roles at global firms, they want to arrive with the professional vocabulary, written communication skills, and cultural savvy that set them apart from day one.

Technical specialists going global

Brilliant in their field — finance, tech, engineering — but underconfident in English, they need industry-specific vocabulary and presentation skills to match their expertise to their communication.

Ambitious career changers

Pivoting into international roles or English-speaking environments, they need a structured, self-paced system that builds their Business English from the ground up — on their own schedule.

Al Argo

I know exactly what it feels like to have something important to say — and worry that the words won't come out right in English.

Maybe you've sat in a meeting and had a brilliant idea, but by the time you found the phrasing, the conversation had moved on. Maybe you've rewritten a client email six times and still weren't sure it sounded professional. Maybe you've watched colleagues with weaker ideas but stronger English get the credit, the client, or the promotion. If any of that resonates, I built this school for you.

I designed Business English Pro because I saw a real gap in how business English is taught. Most courses give you textbook dialogues and grammar drills that bear almost no resemblance to how language actually works in a boardroom, on a video call, or in a salary negotiation. I wanted to create something different: a curriculum that is academically rigorous and ruthlessly practical, one that respects your intelligence and your time, and that speaks to the specific challenges faced by ambitious professionals from China, Japan, Armenia, and across Asia and the Caucasus — regions with their own rich communication cultures and their own very specific learning curves when it comes to English in a Western business context.

Every lesson in this school is built around a real situation you will actually face. You won't just learn how to write an email — you'll learn what tone signals authority versus aggression, what structure makes a proposal persuasive, and which phrases quietly signal to a native-speaking reader that you're a peer. You won't just learn meeting vocabulary — you'll learn how to interrupt politely, how to redirect a conversation, how to sound confident when you're leading and collaborative when you're contributing. And you'll learn the things that most English teachers never mention: the cultural codes, the unwritten etiquette, the social English that determines whether you feel like an insider or an outsider at a networking dinner.

The curriculum is structured across six modules that mirror the actual shape of a business career — from your first day at an English-speaking company to the leadership and strategic communication language you'll need to advance. It is fully self-paced, because you have a career and a life, and learning English shouldn't add chaos to either. And the final module gives you a system for continuing to grow independently, long after you finish the last lesson.

I believe that language is power — and you already have everything else you need to succeed on the global stage. Let's make sure English is never the thing that holds you back. I look forward to learning with you.
