If you've ever stayed late rewriting a job posting for the third time this month, or sat across from a new hire during their second week wondering if you made the right call — I want you to know I've been there too. Staffing a childcare program is one of the most demanding, most important, and most under-supported parts of this work. Nobody hands you a manual when you step into the director's chair. You figure it out on the fly, often while also covering a classroom.

That's exactly why I built the Childcare Staffing Blueprint. Not as a theoretical HR course, but as the practical peer-to-peer guide I wish I'd had — the kind of straight talk you'd get from a seasoned director over coffee, not a consultant billing by the hour.

Here's what I know for certain: turnover isn't inevitable. It feels that way when you're in the middle of it, but most of the patterns that lead to staff leaving — or never being the right fit in the first place — are predictable and preventable. The issue isn't that childcare is a hard field to staff. The issue is that most of us were never given a real system. We hired from gut instinct, onboarded on the fly, and hoped training would sort itself out. This course replaces hope with a repeatable process.

Inside the Blueprint, we go from the very beginning — defining who your ideal employee actually is, and writing job postings that attract mission-aligned candidates — all the way through structured interviewing, compliant onboarding, training pathways, compensation and scheduling frameworks, and professional performance management. We don't skip the hard parts: the difficult conversations, the performance improvement plans, the exits. Because those are exactly where most directors feel least equipped and most exposed.

You don't need a human resources degree to build a great team. You need clear frameworks, practical tools, and the confidence to use them. That's what this course gives you. I'm genuinely excited to work through this with you — because when your team is stronger, the children and families you serve feel it every single day.

Come build something that lasts.
