What you'll learn

What you'll be able to do

  • Demonstrate mastery of NREMT cognitive exam content across all major body systems and emergency conditions
  • Perform rapid patient assessment using the standardized AVPU, GCS, and SAMPLE frameworks under simulated time pressure
  • Select and justify correct airway management interventions — from BVM to advanced supraglottic airways — for diverse patient presentations
  • Accurately calculate drug dosages, drip rates, and weight-based protocols for ALS-level pharmacological interventions
  • Recognize and initiate correct treatment protocols for life threats including MI, stroke, anaphylaxis, respiratory failure, and trauma
  • Build a passing test-taking strategy using targeted NREMT-style practice questions, adaptive review, and high-yield mnemonics

I know where you are right now. You've decided to do this — pass your certification, earn the patch, get on the truck — and you're staring at a mountain of content wondering how any of it is going to hold together when you're standing at the foot of a bed with a patient crashing and a proctor watching your every move.

That gap between knowing the material and being able to use it under pressure? Closing that gap is exactly what Code Red EMT is built for.

Here's what I've learned about how EMS providers actually learn: isolated facts don't hold under stress. What holds is the mental model — the systematic, habitual way of looking at a patient that lets you process scene, presentation, vitals, and history simultaneously and arrive at a clinical decision with confidence. That's why everything in this program is taught from a decision-making framework. Not "here's the definition of anaphylaxis" — but "here's how anaphylaxis presents, here's what it can masquerade as, here's your protocol, and here's what happens if you hesitate." That's the difference between passing an exam and being ready for the field.

I built this curriculum to cover the full arc — from your first patient assessment framework (AVPU, GCS, SAMPLE, OPQRST) to advanced airway management, from hemorrhage control and shock recognition to ALS drug dosage calculations and drip rates. We go through cardiac arrest, stroke, anaphylaxis, respiratory failure, trauma, TBI, burns, pediatric emergencies, and behavioral crises. And then we get tactical about the NREMT itself — because the exam has a logic to it, and once you understand how it thinks, your performance improves significantly.

I also want to address the objection I hear most often: "I'm not a natural test-taker." The NREMT isn't testing your ability to take tests. It's testing clinical judgment with a standardized question format. Learn to recognize what the question is actually asking — about your patient, your priority, your next action — and the format stops being an obstacle. That's a skill. We teach it.

If you do the work in this program — engage with the scenarios, work through the practice questions honestly, and use the adaptive review to hunt down your weak spots — you will be prepared. Not just to pass, but to show up on day one with the kind of confident, systematic thinking that makes you a provider your partner can rely on. That's the standard we're building toward. Come in, do the work, and let's get you there.
