MIKAEL DAVIS ACADEMY

MIKAEL DAVIS ACADEMY

If you're a high school student staring at a blank Common App, or a parent who Googled "how does the FAFSA work" at 11pm and ended up more confused than when you started — I want you to take a breath. You're not behind. You're not missing some gene that makes this easy for other families. In fact, the college application process is genuinely complicated, and most people are just figuring it out as they go. I created OPTIMIZING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT: The Ultimate College Access Blueprint to help students maximize the unique opportunity to introduce themselves to a university before they ever set foot on campus.

Admissions committees see grades, course titles, activities, essays, recommendations, and - at some institutions - test scores. But the strongest applications connect those individual pieces into a clear and compelling story about who you are, what you have accomplished, what matters to you, and what you may contribute to a college community.

At Mikael Davis Consulting, our work is rooted in thirty years spent in the K-12 and college access world — working with students, studying what actually moves the needle in admissions, and watching families lose thousands of dollars in aid simply because nobody walked them through the forms. What I kept seeing was the same gap on repeat: the students with private counselors and well-resourced high schools had a roadmap. Everyone else was forced to rely on Google, a stressed-out school counselor with 400 kids on their caseload, and a lot of conflicting advice.

I wrote OPTIMIZING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT: The Ultimate College Access Blueprint around three things I believe deeply. First, that a strong application isn't about being the "perfect" student. The Five Non-Negotiables framework we cover isn't about gaming the system to manufacture a perfect applicant. Said another way, the objective is to present a prepared, purposeful, authentic student whose application gives an admissions committee compelling reasons to grant acceptance and to award merit-based gift aid. So, your activities list, your essays, your recommendation letters — they all must work together, and we walk you through each one with real specificity.

Second, I believe that financial aid should not be a mystery. Every student and parent deserves guidance from someone who will explain it plainly. We do that. FAFSA line by line, CSS Profile step by step, and yes — we cover how to appeal an award when the number isn't enough, because most families don't know they're allowed to ask.

Most importantly, we believe students make stronger decisions when they have access to better information, strategic preparation, and meaningful support. Optimizing Student Achievement simplifies the application process into five essential areas. However, I have to be honest: this blueprint won't do the work for you. Your student still must write the essays, fill out the forms, and make the decisions. But The Ultimate College Access Blueprint will make sure you know exactly what to do, when to do it, and why it matters — so that when the acceptance letters arrive, you're choosing between real options, not scrambling to make a panicked decision. That's the transformation we pledge to deliver. Register TODAY so that we can help you get there.

What Are Parents & Students Saying?

Your systematic program helped Isaiah receive attractive Track and Field offers totaling approximately $536,000 from two outstanding universities. As a parent, seeing Isaiah like this makes my soul happy. He is a better young man because of your influence. Thank you for being an example in my son’s life.

Erica Hayes

Isaiah has transitioned well to the academic rigors of Syracuse and the competition of the ACC.

Your transcript tells colleges what you have done academically. Your essay helps them understand the person who did it. I contracted Mikael Davis Consulting to review my AAMCAS Primary and Secondary application. He helped me draft more targeted, specific responses to essay prompts and encouraged me to better communicate my unique voice; forcing me to more effectively organize my experiences into themes that clearly communicated the motivations and desired outcomes of my medical education.

Shanice Nakadia Cox, MD

Today, Dr. Cox is improving life prospects for underserved patients who could not otherwise afford quality healthcare.

Good morning, sir! I just want to thank you for showing us the open door for Miles to receive so much of his tuition covered at Hampton University. You are a true blessing, indeed!”

Courtney Mompoint

After completing Mikael Davis Academy, Miles Mompoint earned merit scholarships totaling $183,740 over four years!

The best recommendations do not simply say that you are 'a good student.' They provide evidence. As the Director of my McNair Scholars program, Mikael Davis afforded me the opportunity to attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. My research ultimately led to my enrollment in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of North Carolina. Mr. Davis's grant funding has significantly increased graduate degree completion rates amongst underrepresented students.

Robert Gresham, III, PharmD

Robert earned his PharmD degree in 2024 and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNC‑Chapel Hill.

A great application is not a pile of documents. It is a unified story in which every component helps an admissions committee understand your preparation, character, interests, accomplishments, and potential. As my mentor, Mikael Davis exposed me to a methodology that equipped me to do just that. Your student will greatly benefit from this service.

Major Jordan Anthony Green, JD

United States Army Judge Advocate and Hampton University Alumni Association’s 40 Under 40 Award recipient.

In May 2016, I graduated from Xavier with dual degrees in Political Science and Spanish. In 2019, I earned my Juris Doctorate from Loyola University's New Orleans College of Law. But back in 2012, Mikael Davis Consulting drafted my resume, provided feedback on my personal statement for college admissions and scholarship application essays, and conducted a mock interview session that eased my anxiety. His SAT Prep increased my score by 290 points, helping me earn over $271,000 in merit-based aid.
