Audra N. Gillis, LCSW-C, LICSW, CBT, CHT
Here's something I want to say right up front: if you've spent years thinking you're just "bad at discipline," I don't believe that. And after everything I've learned about how procrastination actually works — the psychology behind it, the loops it creates, the way it weaponizes your own intelligence against you — I really, genuinely don't believe it.
Smart, capable people procrastinate the most. Not because they're lazy. Because they're more aware of the stakes, more sensitive to the risk of failure, more likely to talk themselves into waiting until conditions are perfect. Sound familiar? That pattern has a name. It has a structure. And it can be interrupted — systematically, reliably, starting this week.
I built Done By Default because I couldn't find a course that was honest about what procrastination actually is. Most productivity content either cheerleads at you ("just start!") or drowns you in frameworks you'll never use. I wanted something grounded in real behavioral science — implementation intentions, temptation bundling, cognitive reframing, environment design — but translated into language a real person can apply on a real Tuesday morning when they'd rather do literally anything else than open that document. That's what this is.
The curriculum walks you through your own procrastination fingerprint first, because not all avoidance looks the same. Then we rebuild from the inside out: mindset, then techniques, then your daily system, then how you handle projects, then how you hold yourself accountable without burning out or beating yourself up. Each piece is designed to work together, and each one is something you can start using the same day you learn it.
I'm not going to promise you'll never have an off day. That's not the goal. The goal is that you stop letting off days turn into off weeks — that you have a recovery protocol, a weekly review, a minimum viable routine that pulls you back on track almost automatically. The goal is that action becomes your default, not something you have to psyche yourself up for.
If you're ready to stop negotiating with yourself and start finishing what actually matters, I built this for you. Come on in.
