Friend, if you've landed here, I want you to know something first: I see you. I know what it's like to look in the mirror after 50 and feel like your body has become a stranger. I know the exhaustion of doing "all the right things" and still watching the scale creep up, still waking at 3 a.m. with your heart pounding, still reaching for the coffee at 2 p.m. because you simply can't function without it. I've been there. Not in theory—I've lived it.

After losing 135 pounds, I thought I'd finally found the answer. Instead, I discovered a whole new set of challenges that no one had warned me about. Along with the weight loss came muscle loss, thinning hair, fatigue, and questions I couldn't seem to get answered. That's when I realized that losing weight and building lasting health aren't always the same thing.
