Coach Every Kid Like You Were Born for This Sideline
Put Me in Coach gives you a complete, field-tested playbook — from safety and skill-building to culture and communication — so every kid on your roster grows, belongs, and loves the game.

My whole coaching philosophy comes down to this: if every kid leaves your practice feeling more capable and more valued than when they arrived, you've already won.— Leigh Baumann

A note from your teacher
Leigh Baumann
Hey, Coach. Can I call you that? Because whether you feel ready or not, that's exactly who you are the moment kids start looking to you for direction.
I know what it feels like to stand on that sideline wondering if you know enough, if the kids are getting enough, if you're doing this right. I know what it's like to have a kid on your roster who doesn't fit the usual mold — who struggles to focus, or moves differently, or needs something you weren't sure how to give. I know what it's like when a parent pulls you aside after practice with a tone that makes your stomach drop. And I know what it's like when a kid who barely wanted to be there in week one is the loudest, proudest voice on the team by the end of the season. That last one — that's what this is all for.
Put Me in Coach exists because youth flag football coaches deserve real preparation. Not just a rulebook and a good-luck handshake. You deserve to know how to run a practice that actually works for a six-year-old and a sixteen-year-old — differently, intentionally, effectively. You deserve to know what to do when a player goes down on the field. You deserve to know how to build a locker room culture — even without a locker room — where every kid feels seen and valued, not just the fast ones or the athletic ones. You deserve to know how to have a hard conversation with a parent and walk away with the relationship stronger than before.
This school covers all of it. The fundamentals and the philosophy. The drills and the difficult moments. The safety protocols and the culture-building. The skills your players need and the skills you need to reach them. Every lesson is built around real situations — the ones you're already facing or will face soon — not textbook scenarios that don't survive contact with actual kids.
Here's what I want you to know: you don't have to be the most athletic person on the field. You don't have to have played the game at a high level. You just have to care about your kids, be willing to learn, and show up prepared. This school makes the prepared part a lot easier.
You've already done something meaningful by being here. Now let's make you the coach those kids will still talk about twenty years from now. I'm glad you're here — let's get to work.
