A note from your teacher

TO

Tuition on Demand Academy

I know exactly what it feels like to sit in a biology lesson, stare at a diagram of the nephron or a genetics cross, and think: I just don't get it. Not because you're not smart enough — you absolutely are — but because nobody connected it to anything real. Nobody told you that osmosis is literally what happens to your red blood cells when you eat too much salt, or that the fermentation unit you're studying is the same science behind the kaya your grandmother spreads on toast every morning.

That's what SG Bio Unlocked is built to fix. I designed this programme specifically for Singapore Sec 3 and 4 students working toward the GCE O-Level / G3 Combined Science Biology paper — and I built it around one core belief: biology only clicks when it feels alive. Every lesson in this programme starts with something real. Dengue outbreaks and the Aedes mosquito lifecycle when we study disease. Singapore's food innovation scene when we explore biotechnology and GM organisms. Our own reservoirs and nature reserves when we tackle ecology and conservation. Real contexts don't just make lessons more interesting — they make the science memorable, and memorable science is what you recall under exam pressure.

I also know that you're not just a biology student. You're juggling school, CCAs, other subjects, family commitments, and probably a social life you'd like to actually have. So I didn't build a programme that demands enormous daily blocks of time. Every lesson is 30 minutes. There's a clear weekly schedule for all of Sec 3 and Sec 4. There are audio recaps for the bus ride home and visual summary posters you can stick above your desk. The programme works around your life — not the other way around.

And here's the thing I feel most strongly about: knowing the biology is not enough on its own. I've seen students who genuinely understood the content walk out of the exam hall disappointed, because they didn't know how to write for a marker. That's why exam technique is woven into this programme from the very beginning — not bolted on at the end. You'll learn what 'explain' actually demands versus 'describe', how to structure a free-response answer so every mark point lands, how to read a data-response question without panicking, and how to use the two full-length timed mock papers (with full mark-scheme reviews) to identify exactly what to tighten before the real day.

I built SG Bio Unlocked because I believe every student — regardless of whether they're starting fresh in Sec 3 or scrambling to consolidate in Sec 4 — deserves a clear, warm, well-structured path through this syllabus. You don't need to be a 'science person.' You just need the right guide and the willingness to show up for 30 minutes a day. I'll take care of the rest. Come join us — let's make biology the grade you're proud of. 🌱
