The curriculum
What's inside your school
6 modules · 17 lessons

Arithmetic – Whole Numbers & Fractions
Builds the numerical foundation students need before any other GED Math topic. Students master place value, the four operations, and estimation with whole numbers before moving into fraction concepts and all four fraction operations. Sequenced so that whole-number fluency is secured first — a prerequisite for fraction work and for every later module.
- 1.1Whole Numbers – Place Value, Operations & EstimationIncluded
- 1.2Fractions – Concepts, Equivalence & ComparisonIncluded
- 1.3Fraction Operations – Add, Subtract, Multiply & DivideIncluded
Arithmetic – Decimals, Percents & Real-Life Problems
Extends numerical fluency to decimals and percents, and then unifies all arithmetic skills in multi-step real-life word problems — directly targeting the GED's emphasis on applied mathematics. Decimals are taught before percents because percent-to-decimal conversion is a prerequisite for percent calculations.
- 2.1Decimals – Place Value, Operations & Connections to FractionsIncluded
- 2.2Percents – Conversions, Calculations & ApplicationsIncluded
- 2.3Real-Life Multi-Step Word ProblemsIncluded
Algebra – Integers, Rational Numbers & the Number Line
Bridges arithmetic and algebra by extending the number system to include negative integers and all rational numbers. Students develop number-line fluency and operation skills with signed numbers — essential prerequisites before they can work with algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities in the next module. Placed before Algebra expressions because students must be comfortable with negative values before substituting them into expressions.
- 3.1Integers – Understanding & Operating with Negative NumbersIncluded
- 3.2Rational Numbers – Fractions, Decimals & Negatives on the Number LineIncluded
Algebra – Expressions, Equations & Inequalities
Develops core algebraic reasoning across three carefully sequenced lessons: students first write and manipulate expressions (no equals sign), then solve equations (one solution), and finally solve and graph inequalities (a range of solutions). Each lesson builds directly on the last. Signed-number skills from the previous module are applied throughout.
- 4.1Algebraic Expressions – Writing, Evaluating & SimplifyingIncluded
- 4.2Equations – Solving One- and Multi-Step EquationsIncluded
- 4.3Inequalities – Solving, Graphing & InterpretingIncluded
Geometry – 2-D & 3-D Figures
Introduces geometric measurement using GED-approved formulas for area, perimeter, volume, and surface area. Students first master two-dimensional figures (where the formula sheet is introduced), then extend to three-dimensional figures. This sequencing mirrors the GED test's geometry section and ensures 2-D understanding is secure before the added dimension is introduced. Algebraic skills from the previous module are applied when solving formula-based equations.
- 5.1Geometric Foundations – Angles, Lines & TrianglesIncluded
- 5.2Two-Dimensional Figures – Perimeter & AreaIncluded
- 5.3Three-Dimensional Figures – Volume & Surface AreaIncluded
Geometry – Coordinate Plane & Test Readiness
Closes the curriculum by developing coordinate geometry skills and then synthesizing everything into full GED test preparation. The coordinate plane bridges algebra and geometry — students apply linear equation skills from Module 4 and geometric measurement skills from Module 5 in a unified visual context. The module ends with a full-length practice test and targeted test-day strategy, ensuring students leave prepared and confident.
- 6.1The Coordinate Plane – Plotting, Distance & MidpointIncluded
- 6.2Lines on the Coordinate Plane – Slope & Linear EquationsIncluded
- 6.3Full GED Math Practice Test & Test-Day StrategyIncluded
Who it's for
Is this you?
Working parents
Studying in stolen hours after the kids are asleep, they need focused lessons that make every minute count toward a real credential.
Career changers
They need the GED to unlock a new job, trade program, or college application, and math is the one remaining hurdle.
Returning students
Back in the books after years — or decades — away, they need a patient, judgment-free starting point that rebuilds confidence alongside skills.
Recent dropouts
Not far removed from school but missing the finish line, they want to close that chapter quickly and move forward with their lives.
English-language learners
With jargon-free, plain-English explanations and step-by-step worked examples, the course is accessible even when English isn't a first language.
Math-anxious adults
Anyone who has ever said 'I'm just not a math person' will find that patient, no-judgment instruction finally makes the concepts land.

A note from your teacher
Lakeisha Grange
I know what it feels like to look at a math problem and have that sinking thought: I was never good at this. Maybe you left school years ago — or decades ago — and math has felt like someone else's subject ever since. Maybe you've picked up a study guide before, hit a page of fractions or variables, and quietly put it back down. If any of that sounds familiar, I want you to know: you are exactly who I built this course for.
Here's what I've learned from working with adult learners: the problem almost never comes down to ability. It comes down to how the math was explained. When someone shows you why a rule works — in plain English, before a single formula appears — and then walks you through an example like a patient tutor sitting right across from you, the whole thing starts to click. That's the experience I've tried to put into every single lesson in GED Math Ready.
We start at the very beginning — whole numbers, place value, what a fraction actually means — and we build from there. Nothing is assumed. Nothing is skipped. By the time we reach algebra, you'll already have the number sense underneath you that makes expressions and equations make sense. By the time we reach geometry, you won't just be memorizing formulas; you'll understand what you're calculating and why the GED is asking for it. And by Module 6, you'll sit down with a full practice test and real test-day strategies so that exam day feels like a confirmation, not a gamble.
I also know your time is real and limited. You might be studying after a long shift, or after the kids are asleep, or in stolen half-hours between responsibilities. This course is built to work with that life — not against it. Each lesson is focused, purposeful, and designed so that even a single session moves you genuinely forward.
You did not miss your chance. The GED exists precisely because life is complicated and paths aren't always straight. I'd be honored to be the calm voice in your corner as you walk toward yours. Come on in — the kitchen table's ready.
