The Gift You Cannot Earn
Lay the unshakeable theological and experiential foundation of grace. Students will move from an intellectual understanding of grace as a free gift — 'not of your own doing' — to a personal, felt sense of what it means to be saved, loved, and held without striving. This module dismantles the performance mindset and opens the heart to receive.
- 1.1What Grace Actually MeansIncluded
- 1.2Recognizing the Striving TrapIncluded
- 1.3Receiving the Free GiftIncluded
Into the Storm — Naming Your Hardship with Honesty
Before renewal can begin, the storm must be honestly named. This module creates safe space for students to face their grief, fear, loss, and doubt without shame — anchored in the truth that being in a storm does not mean being abandoned. Lament is honored as a biblical and spiritual practice.
- 2.1Permission to HurtIncluded
- 2.2Fear, Doubt, and the Courage to Keep BelievingIncluded
- 2.3You Are Not Alone in the StormIncluded
Kindness as a Way of Life
Ground students in the radical practice of kindness — first receiving it from God, then extending it to themselves, and finally allowing it to overflow into others. Kindness is presented not as a nice personality trait but as a direct fruit of living in grace-certainty.
- 3.1The Kindness of God as Your FoundationIncluded
- 3.2Radical Self-Kindness — Loving the Person Grace LovesIncluded
- 3.3Kindness That Overflows — Touching Others in Their StormsIncluded
Anchored in Hope

- 4.1What Hope Really IsIncluded
- 4.2Holding On When Hope Feels ImpossibleIncluded
- 4.3Community as a Carrier of HopeIncluded
Eyes Open for Miracles
Train students to notice, name, and anchor to miracles — both the spectacular and the quietly everyday — as evidence of God's active, loving presence on the journey of renewal. This module builds a permanent practice of sacred attention that transforms ordinary life into holy ground.

- 5.2When the Miracle Is YouIncluded
A World Without End — Living in Love That Never Stops

David Clilverd
I want to start by telling you something I wish someone had told me much earlier in my own journey: you cannot out-strive grace. You cannot earn it, and you cannot lose it. It is a gift — and that truth, when it finally lands in your heart instead of just your head, changes absolutely everything.
I wrote Grace in the Storm because I know what it's like to be in the middle of a season that feels impossible. To keep showing up, keep trying, keep praying — and still feel like you're barely holding on. I've walked through storms of my own. And what I discovered, slowly and sometimes painfully, is that grace was present the entire time. I just hadn't learned to receive it.
That's what this school is about. Not perfecting your faith. Not performing for God or for anyone else. It's about learning to open your hands — to let go of the striving, the shame, the self-sufficiency — and receive what was always being offered: love that never ends, hope that doesn't depend on your circumstances, and the quiet, persistent miracle of renewal.
I'm not here to give you a theological lecture. I'm here to walk alongside you, lesson by lesson, as you discover for yourself what it means to be saved by grace through faith — not by anything you've done, but by a love that existed before you could do anything at all. A love that is, in the most literal sense, world without end.
If you're reading this in the middle of a hard season — if you're tired, or doubting, or just desperate for something real — I want you to know: this is your invitation. Not to try harder. Not to be more deserving. Simply to come as you are, and let grace do what only grace can do.
