I designed Graduate Write because that gap — between being a smart, capable person and being a fluent academic writer — is real, and it's almost never addressed directly. Graduate programs assume the conventions will be absorbed through osmosis. Sometimes they are. Often they aren't. And for students who are also managing careers, families, and the relentless pressure of program deadlines, there simply isn't time to figure it out by trial and error.
