Understand your changing body — and feel great about it
Growing Up Brave is the warm, honest, big-sister guide that walks girls aged 9–14 through puberty, periods, hormones, and big feelings — step by step, in plain language, with zero embarrassment and zero scary surprises.

Every girl deserves someone in her corner who just tells her the truth — warmly, clearly, and without making it weird.— Jill Lien Big Horn Wellness

Hey — if you've landed here, I'm guessing someone in your world is going through puberty, or is about to. And maybe the conversations feel a little awkward. Maybe she's got questions she hasn't quite figured out how to ask. Maybe you're a grown-up who wants to do right by her but isn't sure where to start. Wherever you're coming from — I get it. And I built this course because I think every girl deserves better than vague answers, mumbled explanations, and the feeling that her body is somehow embarrassing.
Here's what I know: when girls understand what's actually happening to them — in plain, honest language — something shifts. The worry doesn't disappear overnight, but it gets smaller. The confusion gets replaced with something much more useful: knowledge she can hold onto. She stops thinking something is wrong with her and starts understanding that her body is doing exactly what it's meant to do. That's the transformation I care about most.
Growing Up Brave walks through the whole picture — hormones, body changes, periods (what they are, why they happen, what to actually do about them), products, cramps, moods, big feelings, and how to ask for help when she needs it. Every single lesson is written the way I'd talk to my own younger sister: straight, kind, warm, and with the complete conviction that she can handle this — because she can.
The girls I think about most when I teach this are the ones who are quietly worrying. The ones who've Googled something and come out more scared than when they started. The ones who wish someone would just explain it simply without making it weird. This course is for them. And honestly? It's for the grown-ups who love them too — because when everyone's on the same page, those conversations at home get a whole lot easier.
If she's 9 or she's 14, if she's barely started or already in the thick of it — she belongs here. Come on in. Nothing here is embarrassing, and you've both absolutely got this.
