Robert Matthews

If you've ever finished a Sunday sermon wishing you could go deeper — if you've sat down to read your Bible on your own and quietly wondered where to even begin — I want you to know that feeling is not a sign of weak faith. It's a sign that you're ready for more. And more is exactly what this school is for.

I've spent years sitting with people who love God and love His Word but have never been handed the tools to read it well. Faithful people who can quote John 3:16 but have never understood why John's Gospel reads so differently from Mark's. Small-group leaders who feel a quiet dread every week because they're not sure they're teaching the passage correctly — or at all. Seekers who pick up the Bible with genuine hunger and put it back down because nobody told them how the library is organized or why Leviticus and Revelation belong in the same book. That gap breaks my heart, and closing it is what The Bible Institute is about.

What you'll find here is not a lecture series that talks over your head, and it's not a devotional series that skims the surface. It's a genuine, structured education in the Bible — how it came to us, how it's organized, how to read any passage with skill and integrity, and how the whole magnificent story holds together from Genesis to Revelation. We'll walk book by book and theme by theme. We'll sit with the hard passages and not flinch from honest questions. We'll trace the great threads — covenant, redemption, the Kingdom of God, the Messiah — until you can see them shining in texts you've read a hundred times and never quite noticed before.

I also want to address the concern I hear most often: "I'm not a seminary student. Is this really for me?" Yes. Wholeheartedly yes. The methods we use — careful observation, historical context, sound interpretive principles — are not secret knowledge reserved for scholars. They are learnable skills, and I will walk you through every one of them in plain, accessible language. Hard questions are welcome here. Doubt is welcome here. The only thing we ask is that you bring the text, bring your honest self, and show up ready to look closely.

By the time you finish, you won't just know more about the Bible. You'll know how to keep learning from it for the rest of your life — on your own, in a study group, and if you choose, in front of a class. That's the transformation I'm inviting you into. I'd be honored to walk this road with you.
