Jainism for Modern Life: Build Inner Peace Through Ethical, Effortless Living

What you'll learn

What you'll be able to do

  • Understand the five core Jain vows (Mahavratas/Anuvratas) and adapt them to a lay, modern lifestyle without feeling restricted
  • Apply the principle of Ahimsa (non-violence) practically across diet, speech, relationships, and digital interactions
  • Use Anekāntavāda (many-sidedness of truth) to resolve conflicts, reduce judgement, and build fairer perspectives at work and home
  • Practise Aparigraha (non-possessiveness) to make intentional financial and consumption decisions that reduce stress and environmental impact
  • Develop a personal daily rhythm of Jain-inspired mindfulness rituals that take under 15 minutes and require no religious conversion
  • Distinguish between the monastic path and the lay (Shravaka) path of Jainism, understanding clearly what is relevant and accessible to a householder
  • Build emotional resilience and inner peace through the Jain concept of Equanimity (Samata) and self-restraint (Samyama)
  • Design a personalised 'Fair Life Blueprint' — a practical ethical code tailored to your own circumstances, relationships, and goals

VIKASH KUMAR JAIN

Hello, and welcome. I'm so glad you're here — because finding this course likely means you're asking the same questions I once was: Why does life feel so loud, so unfair, so exhausting? And more importantly: Is there a better way to live that doesn't require me to give everything up?

My journey with Jainism began not in a temple, but in a moment of burnout. I stumbled across the principle of Ahimsa — non-violence — and realised it wasn't just about what I ate. It was about how I spoke to myself, how I competed at work, how I treated the planet, and how I handled disagreement. That one idea unravelled into a complete, breathtaking system of living that I have spent years studying, practising, and translating into language and habits that work in a modern, ordinary life.

I am not a monk. I have a career, relationships, and a smartphone. I believe that wisdom is only truly useful when it is liveable. That is what I've built this course to be: a bridge between one of humanity's most profound philosophical traditions and the real, complicated, beautiful life you are actually living. I'll be with you every step of the way.
