The Jungian Path

"Every concept we study is a doorway — and I will always ask you to step through it, not just admire the architecture."

Gary R Uremovich MS DMin PhD PA (Emeritus)

What you'll learn

What you'll be able to do

  • Identify and work with your core archetypes — Persona, Shadow, Anima/Animus, and Self — as active forces in your daily life.
  • Analyze your own dreams using Jungian amplification and active imagination techniques.
  • Trace the individuation process and recognize where you stand on your own journey toward psychological wholeness.
  • Apply the concept of the collective unconscious to interpret myth, art, and cultural symbols with new depth.
  • Recognize projection, complexes, and synchronicity in your relationships and life events.
  • Integrate Jungian insights into a personal reflective practice — journaling, dream logging, and active imagination rituals.

Gary R Uremovich MS DMin PhD PA (Emeritus)

If you've found your way here, I suspect you already know that the surface explanation of things is rarely the whole story.

You've noticed the recurring dream that refuses to be forgotten. The relationship pattern that replays itself no matter how clearly you see it. The moment a myth or a piece of music reaches into you and touches something that doesn't have an ordinary name. These are not accidents. In Jungian terms, they are the psyche speaking — and the psyche, Jung insisted, is always purposeful, always oriented toward something larger than the ego's tidy agenda.

I created The Jungian Path because I kept encountering the same frustration: brilliant, searching people who wanted a serious encounter with Jung's thought but found the existing options unsatisfying. The academic literature was rigorous but cold. The popular summaries were accessible but thin. What was missing was a space that held both — where the scholarship was genuine and the practice was real, where you could learn what amplification actually is and then do it with one of your own dreams that same evening.

That is what this school offers. We move through the entire architecture of Jungian psychology — from the foundational structure of the psyche and the dynamics of complexes, through the great archetypes of Persona, Shadow, Anima/Animus, and Self, into the collective unconscious, myth, symbol, and synchronicity, and all the way through to dreams, active imagination, and the individuation process itself. Every concept is introduced with precision, situated in its intellectual tradition, and then turned immediately inward: What does this look like in your life? Where do you recognize it?

I want to be honest with you about one thing: this is not a school that will hand you a checklist of symbols or a quick formula for self-knowledge. Jung himself was suspicious of any approach to the psyche that traded in shortcuts. What you will gain is a coherent, rigorous framework — a set of precise lenses — and a set of living practices that make those lenses genuinely useful over time. If you do the dream logging, if you sit with your first active imagination session rather than rushing past it, if you use the journal as a real container rather than a performance, the material will begin to work on you in ways that are difficult to anticipate and genuinely transformative.

The individuation journey, as Jung conceived it, is lifelong. This school is not the whole of that journey — nothing could be. But it is a worthy, carefully prepared beginning. I'm glad you're here.
