If you are reading this, you already know that the standard coverage of Lithuania's future is not enough, by far.

The newspaper analysis is too reactive. The European Commission forecasts are too aggregated to be useful for a single small economy on NATO's eastern flank. The investment bank notes are written for people who have never had to care about the hybrid war or the Suwalki Gap. And the policy briefings — when they exist — rarely integrate the macroeconomic, geopolitical, and capital market signals into a single coherent picture. You are left holding fragments when what you need is a theory cum praxis framework.

That is the problem this school was built to solve. Based on 60 years of my experience analysing Lithuania and even suffering arrests and long persecutions for its freedom-enhancing actions, I designed Lithuania 2050 for the people who are actually operating inside this country's consequential decisions — or who intend to. Policymakers who need to defend a fiscal position in Brussels while managing a domestic demographic crisis: TFR is about 1.0. Investors who sense that Vilnius is becoming something real but want the analytical structure to act on that instinct with discipline. Executives who are making ten-year market-entry or expansion decisions in an environment where geopolitical risk is not hypothetical. Diplomats who need to project influence at a scale that punches well above Lithuania's population of under three million.

The school is structured the way serious strategic analysis is structured: baseline first, then constraints, then risks, then opportunities, then synthesis. We start with Lithuania's macroeconomic vital signs — GDP trajectory, demographic pressure, productivity gaps, institutional quality — because you cannot build a credible 2050 scenario without understanding where the baseline actually sits, not where you wish it did. We move into the fiscal and monetary architecture, because Eurozone membership is both a constraint and a lever, and most commentary treats it as only one of those things. Then we go deep into geopolitics — and I mean deep, not decorative — because for Lithuania, security architecture and economic strategy are not separate disciplines. The Suwalki Gap, Baltic energy desynchronization, hybrid threats from Minsk and Beijing: these are not footnotes to the economic story. They are load-bearing pillars of it.

The capital markets module is where I find most audiences are genuinely surprised. The post-Brexit fintech dividend is real. The Nasdaq Vilnius opportunity is real. But they are also widely misunderstood — overstated in some dimensions, underappreciated in others. You will leave that section able to evaluate both claims with precision. And when we get to global megatrends — the green transition, AI and automation, deglobalization and nearshoring — we do not just describe them. We force them through the specific lens of what they mean for a small, open, NATO-frontline economy, because that specificity is what converts awareness into strategy.

The school ends where it should: with you. The capstone requires you to produce a strategic playbook — for your institution, your portfolio, your policy agenda, or your diplomatic brief. I have designed this school because I believe that Lithuania's next three decades will be shaped by the quality of thinking brought to its hardest decisions. That thinking should be rigorous, integrated, and honest about uncertainty. I hope you will bring yours.
