Encounter the Bible as One Beautiful Story of Love
A gospel-centered discipleship journey from Pre-Creation to Re-Creation — where every doctrine reveals the character of God made known in Jesus, and where knowing him changes everything about how you live.

I don't want to teach you about God — I want to walk with you into an encounter with the God who has been pursuing you from before the world began.— CJ Cousins

What you'll learn
What you'll be able to do
- Read the entire Bible as one unified, Christ-centered story — from Pre-Creation to Re-Creation — and articulate its grand narrative with confidence.
- Explain core Seventh-day Adventist doctrines (Sabbath, sanctuary, state of the dead, Second Coming, and more) through the lens of God's character of love rather than rule-keeping or fear.
- Experience deep personal assurance of salvation grounded in grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not in performance or perfection.
- Apply a six-part inductive Bible study method (Story, Study, Savior, Big Idea, Response, Next Step) to any passage of Scripture independently.
- Engage justice, restoration, and real-life discipleship as natural expressions of the Gospel — loving God, self, neighbor, and creation as whole-life worship.
- Lead another person through this same discipleship journey, equipped with tools, questions, and practices to multiply gospel-centered disciples.

Prologue — Enter the Story
Before the first doctrine is introduced, learners are invited into the grand sweep of Scripture as one unified, Christ-centered story — not a rulebook or a collection of disconnected facts, but a love story about God's reign breaking into the world. This orientation module establishes the six-part inductive study method (Story → Study → Savior → Big Idea → Response → Next Step) that will be used in every lesson throughout the school, and it introduces the seven biblical scenes that structure the entire journey: Pre-Creation, Creation, Fall, Promise, Messiah, Kingdom, and Re-Creation.
- 1.1Enter the StoryIncluded
Pre-Creation — God Is Love
Before time, space, or matter existed, God already was — a perfect, eternal community of self-giving love. This module establishes the theological foundation for everything that follows: God's character is love (1 John 4:8), and that love is not a reaction to creation but the very nature of the triune God. Understanding who God is before anything was made shapes how learners understand creation, redemption, and the entire story of Scripture. The Godhead — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — is introduced not as a philosophical puzzle but as a relational reality that invites humanity into its life.
- 2.1God Is LoveIncluded
Creation — Made in His Image
God's first act of love was to create — to bring into existence a world of extraordinary beauty and to form humanity uniquely in His own image. This module explores what it means to be made in the imago Dei, the goodness and intentionality of the physical world, the gift of human identity and dignity, and the sacred design of marriage and family as a reflection of God's own relational love. Creation is presented not merely as a doctrinal position but as a declaration of God's generous, life-giving character. Natural evidences of design and fine-tuning are incorporated as invitations to worship, not arguments to win.
- 3.1Made for LoveIncluded
- 3.2Replicating His ImageIncluded
Fall — When Love Was Refused
The story takes a shattering turn. Sin enters not as an inevitable flaw in God's design but as a freely chosen rejection of love — a rebellion against God's reign with cosmic consequences. This module explores the origin of evil in Lucifer's pride, the nature of the great controversy between Christ and Satan, the catastrophic effects of sin on human nature and relationships, and the profound mercy of God who refuses to abandon His creation. These lessons are taught with pastoral honesty about the reality of suffering, shame, and brokenness, while consistently pointing to the promise that God's love is not defeated by the Fall — it is revealed more fully through it.
- 4.1Rebellion Against His ReignIncluded
- 4.2Falling Out of LoveIncluded
Promise — The Covenant of Love
Even in the darkest moment of the Fall, God made a promise — and the entire sweep of the Old Testament is the story of that promise being kept. This module explores God's covenant faithfulness through the law and the Sabbath, revealing that both are not instruments of condemnation but expressions of God's love and invitations into His rest. The law and the Sabbath are taught through the lens of relationship and grace, grounded in the character of Jesus as the fulfillment of every promise.
- 5.1The Promise of Faithful LoveIncluded
- 5.2Enter His RestIncluded
Messiah — The Kingdom Has Come
This is the center of the story — and the longest module in the school — because the life, death, resurrection, ascension, high-priestly ministry, and saving work of Jesus Christ are the heart of everything. Every lesson in this module is anchored in a specific dimension of who Jesus is and what He has done, presented inductively from Scripture and always culminating in personal assurance, transformation, and response. The eight lessons in this module cover the Gospel of the Kingdom, the atonement, the sanctuary and heavenly priesthood, justification and sanctification by grace through faith, baptism, the Lord's Supper, spiritual transformation, and the corporate witness of the Church. Learners will leave this module with deep, grace-rooted assurance of salvation and a clear, joyful understanding of how Jesus fulfills every Old Testament promise.
- 6.1The Good News of the KingdomIncluded
- 6.2A Love Stronger Than DeathIncluded
- 6.3Priest and KingIncluded
- 6.4Saved by LoveIncluded
- 6.5Immersed in His LoveIncluded
- 6.6In Remembrance of HimIncluded
- 6.7Transformed by LoveIncluded
- 6.8Love on DisplayIncluded
Kingdom — The Disciple-Making Movement
The Church has been given a mission: to make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them everything Jesus commanded. This module explores the nature and practices of the disciple-making community — its unity across every human divinity, its stewardship of resources and time, its empowerment by the Holy Spirit, its guidance by the gift of prophecy, and its prophetic mission in the world. Every lesson in this module is designed to equip learners not merely to be disciples but to make disciples — actively multiplying the Gospel in their relationships, communities, and contexts.
- 7.1The Disciple-Making Kingdom MovementIncluded
- 7.2One in ChristIncluded
- 7.3A Sacred Kingdom TrustIncluded
- 7.4Empowered by LoveIncluded
- 7.5Guided by LoveIncluded
- 7.6A People of Love on MissionIncluded
Re-Creation — Love's Reign Fully Restored
The story does not end in ash and tragedy — it ends in a wedding, a city, and a garden. This final module takes learners through the last act of the grand biblical drama: the Second Coming of Christ, the millennial events and the final judgment, and the ultimate restoration of all things in the new earth. These are among the most distinctively Adventist topics in the school, and they are taught — consistently with the school's tone — through the lens of God's character of love, His commitment to justice and transparency, and His unshakeable promise to make all things new. Learners leave this module not with dread but with hope, and with the assurance that love will, indeed, have the final word.
- 8.1The Return of the KingIncluded
- 8.2A Transparent EndIncluded
- 8.3Love's Reign Fully RestoredIncluded

CJ Cousins
Maybe you've been in church your whole life and still feel like you're holding a collection of disconnected beliefs rather than a living faith. Or maybe you're new to all of this — curious, a little skeptical, maybe a little wounded — and you're not sure the God you've heard about is the one you actually want to know.
I get it. For a long time, I experienced the Bible the same way most people do: in fragments. A verse to win an argument. A passage to explain a doctrine. A chapter pulled out of context to support a point. And the result was a faith that felt more like a system to maintain than a story to inhabit. What changed everything for me was learning to read Scripture as what it actually is — one unified, Christ-saturated narrative, from before the first sunrise to the last page of Revelation, held together by a single thread: the love of God revealed in Jesus.
That's what Love's Reign is. It's the journey I wish I'd had years ago — and the one I've now had the privilege of walking with others. We go all the way through: from the eternal nature of God before creation, through the heartbreak of the Fall, through the covenant promises that never wavered, through the life and death and resurrection of Jesus, through the disciple-making movement of the early church, and all the way to the New Earth where love finally reigns without resistance. Every doctrine we touch — the Sabbath, the sanctuary, salvation, the Second Coming — we hold up to the light of Jesus and ask: what does this tell us about who God is? The answers are more beautiful than most of us were ever taught.
I also want to be honest with you about what this course will ask of you. It will ask you to slow down. To sit with a passage. To let the story do something to you before you try to do something with it. We use a six-part Bible study method that will become yours for life — but more than a method, I want you to walk away with a deep, settled, grace-rooted assurance that you are loved, that you belong to Jesus, and that your life has a part to play in the grand story still unfolding.
And then — if you're willing — I want to equip you to bring someone else along. Because the best thing that can happen at the end of this journey is that you turn around and say, come, let me show you what I found.
You don't have to have it all figured out to begin. You just have to be willing to enter the story. I'll meet you there.
