Who it's for

Is this you?

The returning adult learner

Decades out of school and ready to finally fill in the gaps math class left behind — on their own terms, at their own pace.

The career changer

Pivoting into a field that needs solid numeracy — like healthcare, tech, or finance — and needs a trustworthy place to build that foundation fast.

The parent homework helper

Wants to genuinely understand what their kids are learning so they can actually help — not just Google the answer five minutes before bedtime.

The math-anxious student

Struggled in school, convinced they're 'not a math person,' and looking for a patient, judgment-free environment to prove that story wrong.

The self-improvement striver

Filling in lifelong knowledge gaps — one skill at a time — and knows that solid math will quietly improve dozens of everyday decisions.

The everyday numbers user

Wants to feel confident with budgets, recipes, tips, and percentages — the real-world math that shows up every single day.

Tracy Burke

If you've ever sat across from a math problem and felt that familiar knot in your stomach — the one that whispers I'm just not a math person — I want you to know: I hear you, and I don't believe that for a second.

I've worked with a lot of adult learners, and the story is almost always the same. Somewhere along the way, a concept didn't click, or a teacher moved too fast, or you missed a week and never quite caught up — and from that point on, math felt like everyone else's thing, not yours. That's not a story about your ability. It's a story about not having the right explanation at the right time. That's what I'm here to change.

Math from Scratch is built the way I wish math had been taught to all of us: in plain English, with real-world examples you actually recognize, and with each step fully explained before we take the next one. We start with numbers — genuinely, from the ground up — and by the time we reach algebra and geometry, those topics feel like a natural next step rather than a cliff edge. Nothing is assumed. Nothing is rushed. You'll never hear me say "obviously" or "simply" — because if it were obvious, you wouldn't need me.

I also want to say this directly: feeling nervous about math as an adult is one of the most common things in the world, and it takes real courage to decide to face it. I respect that enormously. My job is to meet you exactly where you are, keep things encouraging, and remind you — often — that progress is possible for you. Not just in theory. Actually, truly possible.

So if you're ready to finally understand fractions without guessing, know what algebra is actually for, and look at a graph or a percentage and feel calm instead of panicked — I'd love to be the one who helps you get there. Let's start from scratch, together.
