Make math your child's favourite subject
Math Mavericks gives 9–10-year-olds a bite-sized daily routine — think real-world word problems, hands-on geometry builds, and fraction-and-decimal adventures — so 5th grade feels exciting instead of overwhelming. Families get the guidance they need too, right from day one.

My goal is simple: by the time your child finishes their last lesson, math should feel like something that belongs to them — not something that happens to them.— Diving Deeper Academy

What you'll learn
What you'll be able to do
- Confidently solve multi-step word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in real-world contexts.
- Compare, convert, and calculate with fractions and decimals across everyday situations like recipes, money, and measurement.
- Identify and apply geometry concepts — including area, volume, and shape properties — through hands-on drawing and building activities.
- Interpret and use percentages and basic statistics to read charts, understand data, and make simple predictions.
- Build a consistent daily math habit using a structured 10–15 minute lesson routine designed for shorter attention spans.
- Explain their mathematical thinking clearly — in writing and verbally — while families learn how to reinforce each concept at home.

Diving Deeper Academy
Hey there — if you're reading this, I'm guessing you've got a 9 or 10-year-old who's either already nervous about 5th-grade math, or who's started to feel like maybe math just "isn't their thing." I want you to know: I hear that. And I built Math Mavericks because that feeling is far too common, and it doesn't have to be the story your child takes into middle school.
Here's what I know about kids this age: they don't need more worksheets. They don't need to be drilled until they're bored. They need to see that math is alive — that it shows up in the recipe they're helping cook, in the chart they're reading about their favourite team's stats, in the room they measured and calculated the area of. When math connects to real life, something clicks. Confidence follows curiosity, and suddenly the "I can't do this" kid is the one explaining their thinking to you.
That's the design behind every single lesson in this school. We start small — a 10–15 minute daily routine that builds a habit without burning anyone out. We work through multi-step word problems using a four-step framework your child will carry into every exam they ever take. We get hands-on with geometry: actually drawing, building, and presenting shapes and structures. We decode fractions and decimals in contexts that make sense (think money, measurement, and meal planning — not just rows of numbers on a page). And by the time we reach percentages and statistics, students are reading charts like detectives and making predictions with real data.
I also know that you — the grown-up in the picture — want to be part of this. Not sidelined, not confused, not Googling "how do you add fractions" at 9pm. So the school starts with a Family Kick-Off session built for exactly you, and it closes with a Family Celebration Guide that helps you recognise — concretely and specifically — how far your Maverick has come. You're not just paying for lessons. You're joining a team.
If your child finishes Math Mavericks and walks into 5th grade feeling ready, capable, and maybe even a little excited to show off what they know — that's the win I'm here for. I'd love to see you (and your Maverick) inside.
