Who it's for
Is this you?
The curious middle schooler
She's been saying 'I want to be a doctor' since fourth grade and is finally ready for something real — not just a hobby kit, but an actual first step.
The high schooler building his résumé
He's a sophomore who knows pre-med is the goal but has no idea how to get clinical hours, research experience, or a personal statement started before senior year.
The first-generation pre-med student
She's the first in her family pursuing medicine and needs the mentorship and professional connections her peers seem to get automatically.
The undecided college freshman
He marked 'pre-med' on his application but isn't sure if he actually wants to be a physician — and needs to explore the full spectrum of healthcare careers before he commits.
The homeschool health explorer
She's passionate about medicine but lacks access to clinical exposure — this community bridges that gap with real healthcare experiences, mentorship, and hands-on learning.
The supportive parent or guardian
She's looking for a structured, mentorship-rich program that gives her teenager real medical exposure and a portfolio — not just another online course to abandon.

A note from your teacher

Dr. Dexter Frederick
If you're reading this, there's a good chance you've already had that moment — the one where you told someone you wanted to work in medicine and they smiled politely and said something like, "That's a long road." And you knew they meant well, but what you actually needed wasn't a warning. You needed a map.
That's why BEST Med Prep Academy exists.
I built this program because the students who succeed in medicine aren't necessarily the ones who had the highest grades or the most resources — they're the ones who figured out early that medicine is a community, not just a career. They found mentors. They got curious. They got their hands into real experiences before everyone told them it was "too early." And I want that for every student who walks through this door, at every age, at every starting point.
Inside BEST Med Prep Academy, we don't just talk about medicine in the abstract. You'll explore the full landscape of healthcare careers — more than ten pathways, from MDs and DOs to PAs, nurses, physical therapists, public health officers, and researchers — and you'll use your own strengths and interests to figure out where you fit. You'll prepare for and complete a real clinical or community health observation. You'll conduct an actual research project using the same sources medical professionals use. You'll meet and ask questions to the people already doing the work you're dreaming about. And you'll build a pre-med portfolio that follows you into college applications and beyond.
I also know that belonging matters as much as skill-building. One of the very first things we do in this community is talk about identity — because medicine needs diverse voices, and you are one of them. Whether you're in seventh grade figuring out if you like biology, or you're a college sophomore who's been pre-med since freshman year but needs direction, this program meets you where you are and moves you forward.
You don't need to wait until medical school to feel like you're part of medicine. That feeling starts here. I'm so glad you found us — and I can't wait to see what you build.
