If you've been quietly collecting pretty stones, buying bundles of dried lavender at the farmers' market, and dog-earing pages in craft books you haven't opened yet — I think you already know this world belongs to you. You just haven't had someone sit down beside you and show you where to start.

That's what I built Petal, Stone & Loom to be. Not a polished, intimidating masterclass. Not a pile of techniques with no soul. A warm, unhurried creative home where the first thing we do is go outside — or pull out a few seed packets — and get our hands in the soil. Because I believe that when you understand where your materials come from, everything you make with them carries that meaning.

I'm MaryAnn, and I designed this school around a simple idea: the most beautiful handmade things weave together more than one skill. The herb garden isn't just a side project — it feeds the craft table. The pressed chamomile you dry in lesson two shows up again as the centerpiece of a wire-wrapped pendant. The dried botanicals from your garden get tucked right into the warp of your woven wall art. When your creativity flows across these three areas — growing, making jewelry, weaving — something shifts. It stops feeling like a hobby and starts feeling like a practice.

Every lesson here is taught the way I'd teach a friend at my workbench. I'll tell you why we use this gauge of wire before I ask you to pick it up. I'll show you what a good warp tension feels like — and what it looks like when it's gone wrong — before we move on. I believe that understanding the reason behind a technique is what makes it stick, and what gives you the confidence to try things your own way eventually.
