1

Why Your Memory Isn't the Problem

Reframes the root cause of blanking out — not as a memory failure but as a mindset and preparation failure. Students leave with an accurate mental model of what's actually happening when they freeze, and a new psychological contract with presenting that removes shame and replaces it with strategy.

  • 1.1The Blanking-Out Trap: What's Really HappeningIncluded
  • 1.2The Presenter's Safety Net MindsetIncluded
2

Structure That Guides You, Not Just Your Audience

Teaches students to design their content architecture so the presentation itself becomes the memory device. A well-sequenced, chunked, and signposted talk is self-guiding — the structure whispers 'what comes next' so the presenter never has to rely on brute memorisation.

  • 2.1The Three-Point Spine: Building a Talk You Can't ForgetIncluded
  • 2.2Signposting: Letting the Words Tell You What's NextIncluded
  • 2.3Chunking and Sequencing for Maximum RecallIncluded
3

Professional Notes and Visual Anchors

Equips students with a toolkit of physical and digital memory aids that are genuinely discreet and professional. Covers speaker notes, slide design as a recall scaffold, and how to use the physical environment itself — room layout, props, body position — as an external memory system.

  • 3.1The Speaker's Cheat Sheet: Notes That Work Without Betraying YouIncluded
  • 3.2Slides as Memory Anchors, Not TelepromptersIncluded
  • 3.3Physical Anchors: Room, Props, and Body Position as Memory CuesIncluded
4

Smooth Recovery When You Do Blank Out

Treats blanking out not as a catastrophe but as a predictable event to rehearse for. Students learn tiered recovery techniques for different types of blanks, how to buy invisible time, and — most powerfully — how to reframe a blank into a moment that actually builds credibility with the audience.

  • 4.1The Five-Second Reset: Invisible Recovery TechniquesIncluded
  • 4.2Losing the Thread vs. Losing a Word: Different Blanks, Different FixesIncluded
  • 4.3Turning Blanks into Credibility MomentsIncluded
5

Pre-Presentation Rituals and Anxiety Management

Addresses the window before the presentation — from the night before to the moment of walking on. Covers evidence-based preparation strategies that consolidate recall, and physical and cognitive rituals that lower cortisol, prime working memory, and put the presenter in the optimal neurological state to access everything they've prepared.

  • 5.1The Night Before: Preparation That Protects RecallIncluded
  • 5.2The 30-Minute Window: Priming Your Brain Before You Walk InIncluded
6

Projecting Authority Through Delivery

Focuses on the external performance layer: what the audience sees and hears. Covers pacing, pausing, eye contact, and body language as tools that simultaneously signal confidence to the audience AND create time and space for the presenter's own recall. Closes with a full integration session where every element of the course comes together in a complete live presentation.

  • 6.1Pacing and Pausing: The Delivery Tools That Buy You TimeIncluded
  • 6.2Eye Contact and Body Language That Signal ConfidenceIncluded
  • 6.3Putting It All Together: Your Full System in ActionIncluded

Who it's for

Is this you?

Mid-level managers

They present to leadership regularly but dread the moment their mind goes blank and their authority evaporates with it.

Career changers

Stepping into unfamiliar rooms and higher-stakes settings, they need a system to look credible before confidence fully arrives.

Educators and trainers

They deliver content all day long and need structure that keeps them on track without leaning on scripts in front of a live audience.

Reluctant presenters

They're smart and capable, but anxiety about blanking out makes every presentation feel like an ordeal they'd rather avoid.

Technical experts

They know their subject cold but struggle to organise it on their feet in a way that's clear, memorable, and easy to follow.

Public speakers stepping up

Moving from small talks to bigger audiences, they need professional-grade delivery tools and discreet recovery techniques to match.

Demetrius Demetrius

I want to start by saying something that took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out: blanking out during a presentation is not evidence that you're underprepared, under-intelligent, or not cut out for this. It's what happens when a normal human brain gets a shot of adrenaline at exactly the wrong moment. That's it. That's the whole mystery.

But knowing that doesn't help you in the moment, does it? You're standing there, the sentence just evaporated, and every second of silence feels like a billboard advertising your panic. I've been there. A lot of people I respect enormously have been there. And most of them — most of us — never got any real help with it, because the advice on offer was always the same useless handful: practice more, breathe, picture them in their underwear. Right. Thanks.

What actually helps is having a system. Not a performance, not a confidence hack — a proper, practical system where the structure of your talk becomes a memory guide, your notes work with you instead of against you, and when a blank does hit, you have a specific move ready to go. That's what this course is. Every module is built around a real technique you can take into your next presentation — whether that's a boardroom update, a team briefing, a conference talk, or a difficult conversation with a room full of stakeholders.

I designed this for people who are competent — genuinely competent — but whose brains occasionally fail to cooperate under pressure. Professionals, educators, managers, career changers walking into unfamiliar rooms: people who deserve to be judged on what they actually know, not on whether they stumbled over a word in the third paragraph. If that's you, this course was made with you specifically in mind.

You don't need to become a different kind of person to present well. You need a smarter setup, a few reliable techniques, and the knowledge that you have a safety net. Come in, and let's build it together.
