1

In the Beginning Was the Word — The Foundation

Before transformation can begin, learners must understand why the mind is the battleground and why the Word is the starting point. This module establishes the theological and contemplative framework for the entire course — grounding every lesson that follows in the conviction that renewed thinking is not self-help, but a sacred, Word-anchored act.

  • 1.1Why the Mind Matters — The Battlefield WithinIncluded
  • 1.2St. Paul's Invitation — What 'Be Transformed' Actually MeansIncluded
  • 1.3The Word as Living Technology — Scripture, Silence, and the Renewing ProcessIncluded
2

Naming the Noise — Mapping the Thought Patterns That Steal Peace

You cannot renew what you cannot see. This module equips learners to honestly identify and name the specific thought patterns — fear, division, resentment, scarcity, tribalism — that are generating personal suffering and contributing to conflict in the world around them. Awareness is the first act of transformation.

  • 2.1Fear — The Loudest Lie in the RoomIncluded
  • 2.2Division and the Tribal Mind — Us, Them, and the GospelIncluded
  • 2.3Resentment, Wounds, and the Stories We Keep TellingIncluded
3

Discerning the Voice — Truth vs. Noise

In an age of information saturation, trauma responses, and cultural noise, the renewed mind must learn to discern. This module trains learners to distinguish the voice of the Spirit from the voices of ego, culture, media, and unhealed wounds — so they can respond from truth rather than react from fear or conditioning.

  • 3.1The Voices We Mistake for God — Ego, Trauma, and CultureIncluded
  • 3.2Choosing Response Over Reaction — The Sacred PauseIncluded
  • 3.3Anchoring in Truth — Building a Personal Scripture ArsenalIncluded
4

Practising the Peace That Passes Understanding

This module moves from awareness and discernment into the daily cultivation of deep, stable inner peace — the kind Philippians 4:7 describes as surpassing human understanding. Learners build a sustainable contemplative practice and learn to maintain peace not by avoiding turbulence but by remaining rooted in God regardless of circumstances.

  • 4.1The Anatomy of Biblical Peace — Shalom Is Not the Absence of TroubleIncluded
  • 4.2The Daily Renewal Practice — Building What LastsIncluded
5

From Inner Peace to Outer Presence — Becoming a Peacemaker

Transformation is never purely private. This module bridges inner renewal to outward action — equipping learners to carry their peace into their most difficult relationships, communities, and spheres of influence. Jesus's Beatitude 'Blessed are the peacemakers' (Matthew 5:9) is unpacked not as passive niceness but as active, costly, Spirit-empowered bridge-building.

  • 5.1Blessed Are the Peacemakers — Not the Peace-KeepersIncluded
  • 5.2Bridge-Building in Broken Places — Practical Reconciliation in Relationships and CommunityIncluded
  • 5.3Your Sphere of Influence — Peace That MultipliesIncluded
6

The Personal Peace Vision — Writing Your Contribution to a Healed World

The course culminates in an integrative, forward-facing module where every thread — the renewed mind, the silenced noise, the stable peace, the bridge-building practice — is woven into a single, clear, written Personal Peace Vision. This is the learner's articulated answer to the question: 'How does my transformed mind contribute to a more healed world?'

  • 6.1Looking Back to See Forward — Integrating Your Transformation JourneyIncluded
  • 6.2Articulating Your Personal Peace Vision — A Statement for the WorldIncluded

David Clilverd

I want to begin by acknowledging where you might be right now.

You turn on the news and feel a kind of dread settle into your chest. You scroll through conversations online and see people — good people — talking past each other, hardening, dividing. And somewhere beneath the fatigue and the frustration, a quiet but persistent question surfaces: Is there anything I can actually do?

I've sat with that question for a long time. And the answer I keep returning to — the one that has reshaped how I live, how I speak, and how I see conflict — comes not from a think tank or a political platform, but from one of the most quietly radical sentences ever written: "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

St Paul wasn't writing poetry. He was writing a prescription. He understood something that neuroscience is now beginning to confirm and that every genuine peacemaker throughout history has lived: the world is changed from the inside out. Not because inner work is all we do — but because without it, everything we do is driven by the same fear, division, and reactivity that created the problem in the first place.

This school is the structured companion to my book Renewing the Mind: A Path to Global Peace in Troubled Times. But it goes further than any book can. It gives you a daily practice. It gives you a community. It gives you a framework for taking the ancient wisdom of the Word and making it operational — not just inspiring — in your actual life, today, in the middle of everything that's happening.

I am not asking you to be naïve about the world's troubles. I am inviting you to stop being shaped by them — and to start shaping them instead. That shift begins in your mind. And it begins the moment you decide to take it seriously.

Come and do this work. The Word that was in the beginning is still speaking. It is speaking to you, right now.
