You want to walk into the voting booth understanding exactly what's on the ballot, who holds which power, and why your vote shapes every level of government.
Aspiring Candidates
You've thought about running — for city council, state legislature, or higher — and you need the office-specific roadmap, campaign playbook, and confidence to actually do it.
Civics Teachers
You teach government and want a rigorous, nonpartisan resource that goes beyond the textbook and gives your students real-world civic literacy they'll carry for life.
Campaign Volunteers
You're knocking doors, making calls, or staffing an office — and you want to understand the strategy behind the operation so you can contribute at the highest level.
Community Leaders
You've been advocating for change from the outside and are ready to understand the system well enough to work — or run — from within it.
High School Students
You're studying government, preparing for a mock election, or just curious how the country actually runs — and you want answers that go deeper than any textbook.

If you've ever sat through a town hall meeting and thought, "Why doesn't anyone in that room know how this is supposed to work?" — I understand exactly how you feel. Most of us were never really taught. We were handed a civics textbook, asked to memorize the three branches of government, and sent on our way. Nobody showed us the actual machinery: how a bill moves from an idea in a constituent's living room to a law on the books, what it actually takes to get your name on a ballot, or what you're supposed to do on your first day in office.
I built the Ricky Dixon School of Politics because I believe that gap is one of the most consequential problems in American democracy. When citizens don't understand how government works, they disengage. When aspiring leaders don't know how campaigns operate, they don't run. And when good people stay on the sidelines, the seats get filled by whoever shows up. My goal, simply, is to make sure more good people show up — prepared.
This school is for the high school student who wants to understand what's actually in the Constitution, not just that it exists. It's for the first-time voter who wants to read a ballot with confidence, not confusion. It's for the community organizer who has been fighting for change from the outside and is finally ready to work from the inside. It's for the candidate who has the conviction to run but needs the roadmap to do it right — whether that's a school board seat or a seat in the United States Senate. And it's for the elected official who wants to govern with skill and integrity, not just survive the term.
What you'll find here isn't ideology. It's infrastructure. The same nonpartisan, practical curriculum applies whether you're a progressive, a conservative, or something that doesn't fit neatly into either box. Government belongs to all of us. The skills to navigate it, lead it, and improve it should too.
I won't promise you that understanding the Constitution will be easy, or that running for office won't be hard. It will be. But I will promise you this: every lesson in this school is built around what actually works — in the real world, in real elections, in real governing bodies. Come ready to learn, come ready to work, and come ready to serve. That's all this requires.
