  • Explain Santa Muerte's historical roots — from Aztec death goddesses through Spanish colonization to her living Mexican folk-saint tradition — with confidence and depth.
  • Identify each robe color (white, red, gold, black, green, purple, copper/bone) and know which petitions, intentions, and offerings align with each one.

  • Pray the Santa Muerte Rosary correctly and understand why it is regarded as the single most powerful tool for deepening your relationship with her.
  • Select and use appropriate foods, incenses, and offerings that resonate with Santa Muerte, understanding the 'why' behind each gift.

Andrew Wheeler

Maybe you found her on an altar in someone's home and couldn't stop thinking about it. Maybe you heard her name whispered and felt something stir — something old and warm and a little electric. Maybe you've been quietly devoted for years but never had anyone sit down with you and explain the why behind what you feel.

I know that place. I know what it's like to be drawn to something so deeply and have nowhere to take your questions — no tía to call, no community to fall into, no book that starts where you actually are. Santa Muerte has a way of calling people who don't quite fit anywhere else, and for so long, the knowledge about her has been scattered, gatekept, or wrapped in so much fear and sensationalism that it's hard to find the real, living, loving tradition underneath.

That's why I built La Santa Escuela. Because she deserves to be understood — her full history, from the Aztec goddesses who came before her to the syncretic miracle of her birth under colonization to her extraordinary rise in modern Mexico. Because her colors and her offerings and her rosary are a language, and you deserve to speak it fluently. Because a devotional practice doesn't require a fancy altar or a fat wallet or the right ZIP code — it requires presence, intention, and someone willing to show you the door.

What you'll find in this school is that warmth. We go deep into history without making it a lecture. We walk through her rainbow of robes — white, gold, red, copper, black, purple, green — and the specific petitions and offerings that belong to each one, so you're never guessing. We talk about offerings the way a good cook talks about ingredients: with love, with story, with the understanding that a shot of tequila left with a full heart means something real. We pray the Rosary together, bead by bead, until it's yours. And we do all of this in a community that has zero tolerance for judgment and infinite room for the real, messy, beautiful shape of your practice.

You don't have to be ready. You don't have to be certain. You just have to be willing. She's already been waiting. Come in — there's a candle lit for you.
