Sober at the Source
A women’s school for sobriety, self-trust, and healing at the root.Understand what’s beneath your substance use, reconnect with yourself, and build a sober life through compassionate inner work, practical tools, and daily rituals.

“I created this school for the woman who is tired of being so hard on herself. It’s an invitation to understand what’s at the root, meet yourself with compassion, and reconnect with your own inner wisdom. You are already whole, already worthy, and capable of creating change, one step at a time.”
— Sarah Gordy

Who it's for
Is this you?
The quietly questioning woman
She hasn't hit a dramatic rock bottom, but she knows her drinking has become a nightly habit she can't quite stop — and she's ready to look at it honestly before it gets worse.
The high-functioning achiever
She manages a career, a household, and everyone else's emotions — and uses substances to decompress in the only hour of the day that feels like hers, even though it's starting to cost her.
The woman returning after a relapse
She had real sober time, lost it, and is buried in shame — she needs a framework for coming back to herself without the crushing verdict that she has failed for good.
The long-road recoverer
She's been sober for years through sheer determination but wants to go deeper — into identity, purpose, and connection — now that the crisis is behind her.
The spiritually seeking woman
She wants a recovery practice that honors her inner life but doesn't fit neatly into traditional Twelve-Step culture — she's looking for meaning on her own terms.
The woman in early, shaky sobriety
She's just a few weeks or months in, cravings are still loud, and she needs practical coping tools and a community that understands the real texture of early recovery.

Sarah Gordy
If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're tired. Not just the physical kind of tired — though that's real too — but the bone-deep exhaustion of fighting yourself, of cycling through the same patterns, of promising yourself this time and then watching that promise crack under the weight of a hard day or an old feeling you didn't know how to hold.
I want you to know: I understand that place. Not from a textbook — from life. From sitting with women in some of the most vulnerable moments they've ever shared, and from navigating my own hard seasons. That experience is what shaped every single piece of this school. I didn't build Rooted in Recovery because I had it all figured out. I built it because I kept seeing the same gap — women who were doing everything "right," trying harder and harder, and still feeling like something essential was missing. What was missing wasn't discipline or willpower. It was a framework that started underneath the behavior instead of just trying to stop it.
That's what the Four A's are for. Awareness, Acceptance, Action, Accountability — not as a rigid checklist, but as a living, breathing practice you can actually return to on the hard days. When a craving hits and you don't know what to do with it. When you slip and shame is telling you to give up. When you don't even recognize yourself anymore and you're trying to figure out who you are on the other side of this. These tools were designed for those exact moments.
I also want to be honest with you about what this school is not. It's not a quick fix. It's not a program that will do the work for you, or one that requires you to become someone else — someone with a different history, a different faith, a different story. This school asks you to show up as the woman you actually are, with everything you've actually lived. Because that woman — you — already carries more wisdom than you've been given credit for. My job is simply to help you find your way back to it.
Whether you're taking your very first honest look at your relationship with substances, returning after a setback that left you shaken, or ready to go deeper into a recovery practice you've already begun — you belong in this space. Come as you are. The work starts from exactly where you're standing.
