A note from your teacher
Nisky
I know how it feels to watch a kid with a brilliant idea go completely quiet the moment it's time to share it. Maybe they scribble something great in their book, but when the teacher says "Who wants to share?" — nothing. Or they do speak up, but the words come out jumbled and they sit back down feeling worse than before.
That's exactly why I created Speak & Persuade.
I wanted to build something that takes the mystery out of persuasive speaking — not by throwing kids in the deep end, but by walking them through it, step by cheerful step. We start with the basics: what a persuasive speech actually is, how to spot one, and how to think about the people you're talking to. Then we build up — picking a position, finding evidence, thinking about the other side, organising ideas into a clear structure, and sprinkling in the language techniques that make a speech truly memorable.
Here's the thing: I really believe that every kid has something worth saying. The trouble is, most of them haven't been given the right tools yet. This course fixes that. By the time students reach Speech Day, they're not just reciting words — they know why every part of their speech is there, they know how to use their voice and their body to back it up, and they know how to reflect on their own work like a real, thoughtful speaker.
And because this is all built around the Australian Curriculum v9, every skill your child picks up here connects directly to what they're being assessed on at school. This isn't extra work — it's the same work, done in a way that's actually fun.
If your child is ready to find their voice — or even if they're not quite sure yet — I'd love for them to join us. Come in, have a go, and let's find out just how powerful their words can be.
Welcome to Speak & Persuade. I'm so glad you're here.
