Communicate the way Jesus did
Speak Peace equips Christian adults with biblical conflict resolution and practical conversation skills — so you can turn hard conversations into deeper connection, at home, in your marriage, and in your church community.

"I believe the most Christlike thing you can do in a hard conversation is stay in it — with truth, with love, and with your eyes open to your own part in it."
— Maggie Kavanaugh

Maggie Kavanaugh
Maybe you've replayed a conversation a hundred times — wishing you'd said something differently, or wishing you'd said nothing at all. Maybe you love the people in your life deeply, and that's exactly why it hurts so much when words go sideways. If that's where you are, I want you to know: you're not alone, and this is not a character flaw. Most of us were simply never taught how to communicate with the kind of grace, truth, and humility that Jesus modeled every single day.
That's why I created Speak Peace. I wanted to build something that felt less like a lecture and more like sitting down with a trusted friend — someone who could walk you through what Scripture actually says about words, listening, conflict, and forgiveness, and then help you practice it in the real conversations of your real life. Not theory for its own sake. Truth that sticks because it's grounded in something eternal.
Here's what I know about the people who find their way to this school: they're not bad communicators. They're people who care — deeply — about their marriages, their families, their churches, and their God. They just need a framework that holds their good intentions together when the pressure is on. That's what Speak Peace gives you. You'll work through the Four Horsemen of conflict — defensiveness, contempt, stonewalling, criticism — and learn to spot them before they do damage. You'll sit with the Matthew 18 process, the Ephesians 4:15 standard, and the James 4 diagnosis of where conflict really starts. And you'll build skills that aren't just intellectually sound — they're spiritually rooted.
I also want to be honest with you about something: this journey will ask you to look inward before you look outward. We start with the log in our own eye. We practice self-examination before we practice confrontation. That can be humbling — and it's supposed to be. But I promise you, the students who lean into that part grow the most.
No matter where you're starting — a difficult marriage, a fractured friendship, a church in tension, or simply a desire to honor God with your words more fully — there's a place for you here. I'd be honored to walk this road with you. Come as you are. Grace is already waiting.
