Welcome to Taylor Method Academy — Your First Day of School
The grand opening of the Taylor Method Academy experience. Students step through the front doors of a vibrant 90s-style school, complete with colourful lockers, chalkboard announcements, and a buzzing hallway full of other avatars. This orientation module is the prerequisite for every other subject — it builds identity, belonging, and navigational confidence before a single lesson begins. Dopamine-rich design (confetti unlocks, locker customisation, first-day badge) ensures every student feels celebrated from minute one.

Animal Cell Factory Adventure — Science
Aligned to NJ Life Science Standards 5.1 and 5.3 (Grades 6–8). Students enter Cell Corp — a fully animated, cartoon-style protein-manufacturing factory — where every organelle is a department, every process is a workplace drama, and the star of the show is Marty mRNA, a wisecracking messenger with a blueprint under his arm. Lessons follow the exact sequence of cellular biology: structure → information → transcription → translation → processing → export. This deliberate scaffolding ensures no prerequisite is skipped. Heavy use of analogy, character dialogue, mini-games, and comic-strip storytelling makes content stick for all learners, especially those with ADHD or neurodivergence. Completing all lessons and the end-of-class quiz earns the 'Cell Corp Employee of the Month' Certificate of Completion.
- 2.1Welcome to Cell Corp — Security Check, The Cell Membrane & Cell OverviewIncluded
- 2.2The Boss's Office — Nucleus, DNA & the Blueprint RoomIncluded
- 2.3Marty mRNA — The Messenger's Journey (Transcription & the mRNA Molecule)Included

Word Workshop — English Language Arts
Aligned to NJ ELA Standards L.6–8, RI/RL.6–8, and W.6–8. Word Workshop is the academy's English classroom — styled like a buzzing writers' room meets a detective agency, where words are clues, stories are cases to crack, and every student is a language investigator. Lessons are sequenced to build skills progressively: comprehension → vocabulary → writing, ensuring students have the reading tools they need before they are asked to produce written work. A missing prerequisite lesson on grammar mechanics has been added (Lesson 4) to complete the scaffolding toward persuasive writing. Completing all lessons and the end-of-class quiz earns the 'Word Workshop Graduate' Certificate of Completion.

Number Ninjas — Mathematics
Aligned to NJ Math Standards Grades 6–8 (NJSLS-M). Students train as Number Ninjas in a martial-arts-themed maths dojo where every correct answer earns a belt upgrade and every concept is a new combat skill. Lessons are sequenced from foundational number sense → algebraic thinking → geometry, mirroring the NJ grade-band progression and ensuring prerequisites are met before abstraction is introduced. A missing foundational lesson on integers and operations has been added at the start of the sequence to close the prerequisite gap for ratio and algebra work. Completing all lessons and the dojo final exam earns the 'Black Belt Mathematician' Certificate of Completion.
- 4.1Dojo Foundations — Integers, Order of Operations & Number PropertiesIncluded

Time Traveler's Classroom — Social Studies & NJ History
Aligned to NJ Social Studies Standards 6.1 (US History/NJ) and 6.2 (World History). Students board the Time Traveler's Classroom — a retrofitted school bus with a spinning clock on the roof — and journey through New Jersey's history and America's story from multiple perspectives. Lessons were originally only two; three additional lessons have been added to ensure adequate coverage of NJ Social Studies Standards, to include civics and economics (both required by NJ 6.1), and to complete the historical sequence from pre-colonial times through to contemporary New Jersey. Completing all lessons and the time-travel final debrief earns the 'Certified Time Traveler' Certificate of Completion.

Taylor Method Academy Gymnasium — Physical Education
Aligned to NJ PE Standards 2.5 (Motor Skills & Movement) and 2.6 (Fitness), and NJ Comprehensive Health & Physical Education Standards. The gymnasium is the academy's most kinetic space — a full-colour, retro-styled virtual gym where students earn their way through fitness challenges, team sports fundamentals, and wellness practices. PE at Taylor Method Academy is not passive: every lesson includes real, off-screen movement activities that students do in their own space and log back in the app. The lesson sequence follows a sound pedagogical arc: body literacy first → skill development → wellness integration. This module is intentionally kept highly active and low-text to serve kinaesthetic and ADHD learners. Completing all lessons and the Fitness Final Challenge earns the 'MVP of the Gymnasium' Certificate of Completion.
- 6.1Body HQ — Fitness Components, How Your Body Works & Setting Your BaselineIncluded
- 6.2Game On — NJ Sport Fundamentals, Team Play & Fair CompetitionIncluded
- 6.3Mindful Mover — Wellness, Mental Health, Stress Relief & Physical ActivityIncluded
Studio X — Extracurriculars: Arts, Music & Creative Expression
Studio X is the Taylor Method Academy's extracurricular hub — an after-school feeling space where creativity has no rubric and expression is the whole point. Loosely aligned to NJ Visual and Performing Arts Standards (1.2, 1.3, 1.5) and NJ Technology/21st-Century Life and Careers Standards. Lessons are intentionally low-stakes and high-reward: participation is celebrated over perfection. Studio X is the highest-dopamine module in the academy — filled with audio, colour, animation triggers, and creative freedom — making it a particularly powerful re-engagement tool for ADHD and neurodivergent learners. A fourth lesson on coding and digital creativity has been added to align with NJ's Computer Science & Design Thinking standards and to offer a STEM-creative bridge for students who engage more with technology than with traditional arts. Completing all Studio X activities earns the 'Studio X All-Star' Certificate of Completion.

sierra taylor
Hey there — and welcome. If you're reading this, I'm guessing you've got a kid who hates school. Or maybe 'hates' isn't the right word — maybe they're bored out of their mind, or they shut down when things don't click fast enough, or they've been told they just need to 'try harder' one too many times. I see you. And more importantly — I see them.
Here's what I know to be true: there is no such thing as a kid who can't learn. There are only lessons that haven't found the right door yet. For a lot of the kids I've built Taylor Method Academy for, that door isn't a textbook. It's a story. A game. A cartoon character named Marty mRNA who carries a message through the cell like a courier on a mission. It's a Number Ninjas Dojo where you earn your algebra belt. It's a Grammar Garage where punctuation rules are road rules, and getting them right means your sentence engine actually runs.
I designed every single class in this academy — from the Animal Cell Factory Adventure to Studio X's Beat Lab — with one non-negotiable: it has to feel like something your kid chose to do, not something being done to them. That means colour. That means badges. That means avatars and schedule cards and virtual school events and a community where your child is someone — a learner with a locker, a class list, and a growing stack of certificates that prove what they're capable of. The curriculum is fully NJ-aligned, which means the learning is real and the progress is real — it just doesn't feel like punishment anymore.
I also want to be straight with you about something: this isn't a miracle. Your child will still have to show up, take quizzes, and do the work. But when the work is an adventure? When finishing the Golgi Apparatus lesson means you've literally shipped the protein out of Cell Corp and unlocked a badge? Kids want to finish. That intrinsic motivation — that 'wait, can I do the next one?' feeling — is the whole point. That's what we're building together.
So if your 11-to-15-year-old learns visually, thinks in analogies, craves novelty, or has simply never had a classroom that moved at their speed — pull up a chair. Build your avatar. Grab your schedule card. Taylor Method Academy is officially in session, and we are so glad you're here. 🎒✨
