The goal isn't to remove yourself from the business — it's to make sure the business doesn't break when you do.Darlene Tysinger

What you'll learn

What you'll be able to do

  • Design a closed-loop improvement cycle that captures knowledge from daily operations and feeds it back into your business systems automatically.
  • Build a living SOP infrastructure where every recurring question, escalation, or mistake triggers a documented update — not a conversation.
  • Define and track operational metrics that reveal whether your systems are actually improving, independent of short-term financial noise.
  • Implement a structured employee problem-solving framework so your team resolves issues independently before escalating, reducing founder bottlenecks.
  • Deploy AI as a knowledge capture and retrieval layer — organizing institutional memory so it's searchable, usable, and improvable without technical expertise.
  • Audit your organization for founder dependency and replace critical single points of failure with documented, testable, transferable systems.

The AMP Foundation — Why Most Businesses Stay Stuck

Establishes the core philosophy and conceptual vocabulary before any methodology is introduced. Students must understand the systemic problem (knowledge drain, founder dependency, improvement debt) before they can appreciate the solution. This module reframes how founders and operators think about their role and their organization's potential.

  • 1.1The Knowledge Drain ProblemIncluded
  • 1.2Introducing the AMP Loop — Accumulate, Measure, PropagateIncluded
  • 1.3Rethinking the Founder's Role — From Operator to ArchitectIncluded
2

Accumulate — Building a Living Knowledge Infrastructure

The first phase of the AMP Loop. Students learn how to capture knowledge systematically from daily operations — treating every question, escalation, mistake, and customer interaction as a knowledge event. This module builds the raw material that all downstream phases depend on. Without strong accumulation habits and systems, nothing else in AMP works.

  • 2.1Every Question Is a System Failure Waiting to Be FixedIncluded
  • 2.2SOPs as Living Documents — The Architecture of Codified KnowledgeIncluded
  • 2.3AI as Your Knowledge Capture and Retrieval LayerIncluded
3

Codify — Turning Captured Knowledge into Repeatable Systems

Bridges the gap between raw captured knowledge and operational systems that teams can actually use. Accumulation produces raw material; codification shapes it into structures that drive consistent behavior — customer-facing self-service systems, employee decision frameworks, and governed SOP ecosystems. This module was identified in the draft curriculum but needed a prerequisite lesson on customer journey mapping and self-service design principles, added below.

  • 3.1Designing for Customer Self-Education, Self-Qualification, and Self-OnboardingIncluded
  • 3.2The Employee Problem-Solving Framework — Think Before You EscalateIncluded
  • 3.3SOP Governance — Keeping Living Documents AliveIncluded
4

Measure — Operational Metrics That Tell the Truth

The second phase of the AMP Loop. Without measurement, improvement is anecdotal. This module equips students to define, track, and interpret operational metrics that reveal whether their systems are genuinely improving — independent of short-term financial noise. A prerequisite lesson on metric taxonomy (leading vs. lagging, operational vs. financial) has been added to ground students before they build dashboards. [REVIEWER NOTE: The draft had only two lessons here — a third lesson on building a measurement rhythm and dashboard has been added to ensure this phase is as actionable as Accumulate and Propagate.]

  • 4.1Metric Foundations — Leading, Lagging, Operational, and FinancialIncluded
  • 4.2Why Financial Metrics Lie (and What to Measure Instead)Included
  • 4.3Building Your Measurement Rhythm and AMP DashboardIncluded
5

Propagate — Closing the Loop and Compounding Improvement

The third and most strategically important phase of the AMP Loop. Propagation is how improvements re-enter the operating system — making the organization systematically smarter with each cycle. This module covers the mechanics of closing the loop, building a culture of universal contribution to system improvement, and using AI to compress the time between identifying an improvement and deploying it. Without propagation, Accumulate and Measure produce insight that never becomes action.

  • 5.1The Improvement Cycle as an Operating RhythmIncluded
  • 5.2Making Every Employee a System ContributorIncluded
  • 5.3AI-Accelerated Propagation — Running the Loop FasterIncluded
6

Integration — Building the Self-Improving Organization

The culminating module. Students integrate all three phases of the AMP Loop into a functioning organizational system, audit their organization for founder dependency and single points of failure, and build a concrete 90-day implementation roadmap. This module does not introduce new concepts — it synthesizes, applies, and operationalizes everything from the prior modules. [REVIEWER NOTE: A lesson on stress-testing the system under real conditions has been added between the audit and the roadmap, ensuring students validate their systems before committing to the rollout plan.]

  • 6.1The Founder Dependency Audit — Full Organization DiagnosticIncluded
  • 6.2Stress-Testing Your AMP SystemIncluded
  • 6.3Your 90-Day AMP Implementation RoadmapIncluded

Who it's for

Is this you?

The Bottlenecked Founder

Every decision still routes through you, and you're ready to build the systems that change that — permanently.

The Scaling COO

You're managing a growing org and need a structured methodology to replace tribal knowledge with durable, measurable systems.

The Operations Manager

You own the processes in theory, but in practice they live in people's heads — and you want to fix the infrastructure, not just the symptoms.

The Succession Planner

You're preparing to step back, sell, or hand off leadership, and the business needs to be able to run without you in the room.

The Key-Person Risk Owner

You've got a star employee whose departure would be catastrophic — and you need a system for extracting and codifying what they know.

The Frustrated Operator

You've tried SOPs and process docs before, but they go stale and get ignored — and you want a governance model that actually keeps them alive.

Darlene Tysinger

If you're reading this, there's a reasonable chance you built something that works — and it works largely because of you. You're the one who knows the context, remembers the exceptions, answers the questions no one else can answer, and makes the calls that keep things from falling apart. That's not a failure of leadership. It's what happens when a business grows faster than the systems that should support it.

The problem isn't that you're too involved. The problem is that your business hasn't yet developed the infrastructure to hold the knowledge you carry in your head. Every time you answer a question that's been asked before, every time you fix a mistake in a conversation instead of in a document, every time an employee escalates something they could have resolved with the right system — you're doing work that your organization should be doing for itself.

I built the AMP Method because I kept seeing the same structural failure in operationally mature businesses: knowledge lives in people, not in systems. And when it lives in people, it walks out the door, creates bottlenecks, and makes the organization fragile in ways that financial metrics won't catch until it's already a problem. The solution isn't to work harder on culture or communication. It's to build a closed-loop infrastructure that captures knowledge from daily operations and feeds it back into your systems automatically.

What I'll teach you is a methodology, not a motivational framework. We're going to start with an honest audit of where your organization is actually dependent on specific people, then build the infrastructure to fix it — living SOPs with real governance, operational metrics that measure system health rather than just outcomes, an employee problem-solving framework that cuts escalations before they reach your desk, and AI as a practical tool for organizing institutional memory. None of this requires technical expertise. It requires rigor and follow-through.

I'll flag throughout the curriculum where the AMP Method is well-tested and where it requires adaptation for your specific context. I'm not going to oversell what a methodology can do. What I can tell you is that businesses with well-designed improvement loops are structurally different from businesses that depend on heroic individuals — and that difference compounds over time.

If you're ready to stop being the answer to every question and start building an organization that holds its own knowledge, I'd like to show you how. The work is practical, the timeline is realistic, and the outcome — a business that gets smarter without requiring you to be everywhere — is worth it.
