1

First Steps: Rooted in Christ

Every lasting discipleship journey begins with a transformed identity and a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus. This foundational module ensures students are genuinely anchored in the Gospel, secure in who they are in Christ, and equipped with sustainable spiritual rhythms before advancing to doctrine, community, or mission. It is intentionally sequenced first because identity and intimacy with Christ are the prerequisites for everything else in this pathway.

  • 1.1The Gospel That Changes EverythingIncluded
  • 1.2Identity Before ActivityIncluded
  • 1.3Building Rhythms That LastIncluded
  • 1.4The Spirit-Empowered LifeIncluded
2

The Word Alive: Scripture Engagement and Biblical Doctrine

Disciples are formed by the Word. This module moves students from passive familiarity with the Bible to active, obedient engagement — equipping them to read, interpret, and apply Scripture skillfully, understand the core doctrines of the faith with enough depth to teach them, and hold their convictions with both humility and confidence when facing doubt or hard questions. It is sequenced second because Scripture fluency and doctrinal grounding are the framework through which all subsequent lessons on community, mission, and disciple-making are evaluated.

  • 2.1How to Read the Bible Like a DiscipleIncluded
  • 2.2Core Doctrines Every Disciple Must KnowIncluded
  • 2.3Living the Word: From Knowledge to ObedienceIncluded
  • 2.4Handling Doubt, Hard Texts, and Tough QuestionsIncluded
3

Together: Biblical Community and Life Group Life

Disciples are not formed in isolation. This module moves students from a consumer experience of church to active, sacrificial participation in biblical community — marked by covenant commitment, vulnerability, accountability, and the kind of honest fellowship the New Testament describes as 'one another' living. It is sequenced third because students now have a secure identity in Christ (Module 1) and a biblical framework for community (Module 2), making them ready to engage genuine relational risk. The module culminates in students leading their own Life Group, directly building toward the module on disciple-making.

  • 3.1What the Church Was Always Meant to BeIncluded
  • 3.2Vulnerability, Accountability, and Honest CommunityIncluded
  • 3.3Conflict, Forgiveness, and Staying TogetherIncluded
  • 3.4From Participant to Facilitator: Leading Your First Life GroupIncluded
4

Sent: Spirit-Empowered Mission and Evangelism

Disciples are not just formed inwardly — they are sent outwardly. This module establishes every student as a sent person with a unique missional identity, equips them for natural Gospel conversations, helps them discover their specific gifts and calling, and challenges them to integrate mission into the fabric of everyday life. It is sequenced fourth — after identity, Word, and community are established — because effective mission flows from secure disciples who are rooted in Scripture and supported by community, not from guilt or performance.

  • 4.1You Are a Sent PersonIncluded
  • 4.2The Art of Gospel ConversationIncluded
  • 4.3Discovering Your Missional Gifts and CallingIncluded
  • 4.4Everyday Mission: Your Neighborhood, Workplace, and WorldIncluded
5

Multiplying: The Art and Practice of Making Disciples

This module is the practical center of the pathway — where everything from Modules 1 through 4 converges into the intentional skill of making disciples. Students learn from Jesus' own model, design a reproducible discipleship pathway, practice the one-on-one discipleship relationship, and develop a Spirit-led framework for measuring growth. It is sequenced fifth because effective disciple-making requires the student to first be a maturing disciple themselves — you cannot give what you do not have. The module directly produces a discipleship plan students begin implementing before Module 6.

  • 5.1Jesus' Model: How the Master Made DisciplesIncluded
  • 5.2Designing Your Discipleship PathwayIncluded
  • 5.3The One-on-One Discipleship RelationshipIncluded
  • 5.4Measuring Growth God's Way: Fruit, Not FiguresIncluded
6

Leading a Culture of Multiplication

The final module expands the student's vision and capacity from making individual disciples to building movements. This is where personal transformation, biblical grounding, community formation, missional identity, and disciple-making skills all converge into leadership that multiplies — not just adds. Students learn how to embed a discipleship culture in their church or community, raise and release new leaders, and frame their entire life as a legacy of multiplication. Sequenced last because every preceding module is prerequisite: you cannot build what you have not yet become.

  • 6.1From Disciple-Maker to Movement LeaderIncluded
  • 6.2Building Discipleship Culture in Your Church or CommunityIncluded
  • 6.3Raising and Releasing LeadersIncluded
  • 6.4Your Legacy: A Life Measured by MultiplicationIncluded

Who it's for

Is this you?

New Converts

You've said yes to Jesus and need a structured, grace-filled first pathway — from Gospel foundations to Spirit-empowered daily rhythms — so your faith doesn't stall before it starts.

Stuck Believers

You've been a Christian for years but feel like you're circling the same ground — this journey moves you from stagnation into genuine, obedience-driven growth.

Small Group Leaders

You're facilitating a Life Group but want deeper tools for accountability, conflict, and moving your group from a Bible study into a real discipleship community.

Aspiring Disciple-Makers

You feel called to invest in one or two people but don't yet have a reproducible pathway — this school gives you Jesus' model and the practical tools to walk someone else toward maturity.

Church Planters

You're building something from scratch and need a formation culture — not just a program — that multiplies disciples rather than just gathering an audience.

Everyday Missionaries

You sense a missional calling but aren't on a church staff — this school helps you discover your gifts, own your 'sent' identity, and make your neighborhood and workplace your mission field.

CS

Claypole S Cousins Jr

I know what it feels like to be hungry for more — more than a Sunday morning sermon that fades by Tuesday, more than a devotional app you half-remember to open, more than another Bible study that teaches you about God without somehow drawing you closer to Him. If you've ever sat in a church pew and thought, "I believe this — but I don't know how to actually live it," then you know exactly the gap I'm talking about. That gap isn't a failure of faith. It's a failure of pathway.

That's why I built The Disciple's Way. Not as a curriculum in the academic sense — not a collection of content to consume — but as a real, structured, Spirit-led formation journey. The kind of journey Jesus himself led his disciples on: encounter first, then engagement, then empowerment, then multiplication. Every module in this school follows that same arc because that's how genuine transformation actually works. You don't just learn about discipleship. You walk it. You practice it. And eventually, you lead others into it.

Here's the honest truth I want you to sit with: you were never meant to grow alone, and you were never meant to grow just for yourself. The pathway in this school moves you through personal formation — rhythms of Scripture, prayer, and life with the Spirit — but it doesn't stop there. It moves you into honest biblical community, then into Spirit-empowered mission, then into the art of making disciples one-on-one, and finally into building the kind of multiplication culture that outlasts any single leader or program. Every step is designed to be given away. Every lesson is meant to be lived and then taught to someone else.

I want to speak directly to the objection I know is sitting in the back of your mind: "I'm not a pastor. I'm not a theologian. I'm not qualified to disciple anyone." Friend, that lie has kept more people on the sidelines of the Great Commission than almost anything else. The Disciple's Way isn't for professionals. It's for ordinary believers who take Jesus seriously — new converts finding their footing, growing disciples who feel stuck, small group leaders who want to lead with more confidence, and church planters who are trying to build something that multiplies rather than just accumulates. If you love Jesus and you want to walk faithfully and fruitfully with him, you are exactly who this is for.

Come to the table. Walk the path. And watch what God does — not just in you, but through you.
