Tracy Burke

If you've ever read a headline about the Federal Reserve raising interest rates and felt a quiet, nagging sense that you should understand what that means — but didn't quite — then I built this school for you.

Most people walk around with a huge gap between the economic forces shaping their lives and their ability to understand those forces. Inflation erodes their savings. Trade policy shifts their industry. A recession threatens their job. And yet economic education has traditionally been locked behind intimidating textbooks, dense academic jargon, and university tuition. The message, intended or not, has been: this isn't for you unless you're a specialist. I think that's wrong — and I think it does real harm.

Here's what I've come to believe after years of teaching this material: economics isn't hard because the ideas are inherently complex. It's hard because it's usually taught backwards — throwing models and terminology at you before you've had a chance to see why any of it matters. The Economics Edge fixes that. We start with the economic way of thinking — scarcity, incentives, opportunity cost — and build every concept on top of that foundation, always connecting it to something real. A rent control debate. A Fed press conference. A company's pricing decision. Your own career trade-offs.

What you'll find in this school is rigor without intimidation. We don't shy away from serious concepts — elasticity, monetary transmission, comparative advantage, market structures — but we don't hide behind them either. Every idea earns its place by explaining something about the world you actually live in. By the time you finish, you'll be reading economic news differently, thinking about your financial decisions differently, and engaging with policy arguments with a critical sharpness you didn't have before.

I genuinely believe that economic literacy is one of the highest-leverage intellectual investments a person can make. The world is run, in large part, by economic logic — and the people who understand that logic have a clearer, calmer, more powerful relationship with it. I want that for you. Come think with me.
