Gary R Uremovich MS DMin PhD PA (Emeritus)

If you've been sitting on a book idea — or a half-finished manuscript — wondering whether self-publishing is really a legitimate path, I want to speak directly to that doubt. I've felt it too. The publishing industry has spent decades making authors feel like they need a gatekeeper's approval before their work is "real." That's simply not true anymore, and I built this course to prove it.

Here's what I know for certain: the authors who struggle with self-publishing aren't struggling because they lack talent or a good idea. They're struggling because no one handed them the map. They spend weeks Googling contradictory advice, waste money on services they didn't need, upload a file that gets rejected because of a margin setting they'd never heard of, and launch to silence because no one told them a launch has to be built before the book goes live. I made those mistakes so I could come back and show you exactly where the landmines are.

What I've put together in The Self-Publisher is the course I wish had existed when I started — practical, sequential, and honest about the parts that take real work. We start with your idea and your reader, because a book that isn't written for someone specific rarely connects with anyone. We move through manuscript structure, formatting for both print and digital, cover design (with options for every budget), and platform publishing on KDP and IngramSpark. Then we get into the work most courses skip: writing metadata that makes Amazon's algorithm work in your favor, building a launch team before you hit publish, running your first ads, and setting up royalty income that keeps earning long after launch week.

I won't promise you overnight riches — and I'd be suspicious of anyone who did. What I will promise is this: if you follow the process in this course, you will have a properly formatted, professionally presented book on major retail platforms, with a launch strategy behind it and multiple income streams in place. That's not a small thing. That's a published author with a business.

I'm genuinely excited to walk this with you. Let's get your book out of your head and into the world — on your terms.
