I want to talk to you for a second — not as a speaker on a stage, but as someone who has actually been where you're trying to go.

I grew up with a dream that a lot of kids have, but I was fortunate enough to live it. I won a national championship at UCLA, got drafted into the NBA, and then spent years playing professionally in leagues across the world that most people back home had never even heard of. I signed contracts I didn't fully understand. I had conversations with agents I wasn't prepared for. I landed in countries where I didn't speak the language and had to figure out how to earn the respect of teammates and coaches who weren't going to cut me slack because I was the American. I learned every single one of those lessons the hard way — by living them.

Here's what I know for certain: talent will only take you so far. The players who maximize their careers — who get the scholarship that actually fits, who don't get taken advantage of by a bad agent, who thrive overseas instead of washing out after one season, who come out of the game with money in the bank and a plan for what's next — those players understood the game off the court just as well as they understood it on it. Most of them had someone in their corner who showed them how things really work. That's what I want to be for you.

Every lesson in here comes from something I experienced, witnessed, or learned the hard way so you don't have to.

I've been straight with every player I've ever coached, and I'm going to be straight with you: this academy is for serious players and serious families.
