If you are reading this, you are probably somewhere between curious and quietly overwhelmed. You have heard about AI from a colleague, seen it mentioned at a diocesan meeting, or watched a student hand in something that felt a little too polished. And you have asked yourself, perhaps more than once: Is this something I should be using? Is it safe? Is it even compatible with what I believe about the human person and the vocation of teaching?

Those are exactly the right questions. And they deserve a serious, theologically grounded answer — not a corporate brochure and not a panicked dismissal.

I built Veritas AI Academy because I could not find a program that took both the technology and the faith seriously at the same time. Most AI training treats ethics as a legal disclaimer. Most Catholic commentary on AI stops at the level of concern without ever getting practical. What was missing was a formation program — rigorous enough for experienced professionals, accessible enough for people who have never written a line of code — that started from the Catholic vision of the human person and worked outward from there into real, usable skills. That is what this is.

Over eight weeks, we will walk together through everything from the basics of what AI actually is, to building prompt libraries and workflow automations, to designing assessments that form the whole student rather than reward the student who is best at using a chatbot. We will spend serious time on the ethics: identifying misinformation and theological error, understanding algorithmic bias through the lens of justice and the common good, protecting the privacy of the students and parishioners entrusted to your care. And we will end with something concrete — a personal AI Integration Plan for your specific school, parish, or ministry, reviewed by a real instructor who will give you real feedback.

I want to be honest with you about one more thing. AI will not replace what you do. It cannot offer pastoral presence, form a conscience, or love a struggling student. But it can free you from hours of administrative labor so that you can do more of what only a human person can do. That is the promise of this program: not that you will become a technologist, but that you will become a more effective, more confident, more fully-present minister and educator. I would be honored to walk that road with you.
