Program Blueprint & Facilitator Foundations
Before the first session begins, facilitators master the full architecture of the 7-session, 10.5-hour program. This orientation module covers the pedagogical rationale behind each design choice, how to read and use the trainer's manual, how to configure the physical or virtual learning space, and how to prepare all slide decks, supplies, and assessment tools in advance. Completing this module ensures facilitators walk into Session 1 with confidence, clarity, and everything they need to deliver a transformative experience for young leaders.

Sessions 1 & 2 — Identity, Voice & Team Formation
The first two sessions establish the psychological safety and shared language that make all subsequent sessions possible. Children explore what leadership really means (spoiler: it's not about being bossy or the loudest), discover their own unique leadership strengths, and begin using their voices confidently in a supportive group. By the end of Day 2, every child knows each other's name, has identified one personal leadership strength, and has practised speaking up in front of the group — the essential prerequisites for the teamwork and empathy work that follows in Sessions 3 and 4. Each session runs 90 minutes with its own editable PowerPoint deck, detailed manual pages, and activity sheets.
- 2.1Session 1 — 'Who Is a Leader?' (90 min | Day 1)Included
- 2.2Session 2 — 'My Voice Matters' (90 min | Day 2)Included
Sessions 3 & 4 — Teamwork, Empathy & Problem-Solving
With individual identity and voice established, children are now ready to lead others. Sessions 3 and 4 form the relational core of the program, teaching children that leadership is fundamentally about people — understanding them, working alongside them, and making decisions that consider everyone's needs. Session 3 introduces collaborative team-building through structured group challenges, while Session 4 goes deeper into empathy and introduces a simple 3-step decision-making framework children can apply immediately. Together these two sessions address the most commonly cited gap in children's leadership programs: the leap from 'I can lead myself' to 'I can lead with others.' Each session runs 90 minutes with its own editable PowerPoint deck, manual pages, and activity sheets.
- 3.1Session 3 — 'Leaders Build Teams' (90 min | Day 3)Included
- 3.2Session 4 — 'Leaders Care & Decide' (90 min | Day 4)Included
Sessions 5 & 6 — Responsibility, Resilience & Leading in Action
The program now moves from learning about leadership to living it. Sessions 5 and 6 tackle the two qualities that separate good leaders from lasting ones: the willingness to own their actions (responsibility) and the ability to recover when things go wrong (resilience). Children practise both through real-stakes mini-projects and honest reflection. Session 5 centres on accountability — including the rarely taught but vital skill of apologising well and making things right. Session 6 introduces resilience through challenge simulations and reframing exercises, culminating in each child identifying their personal 'comeback strategy.' Together, these sessions build the emotional toolkit children need to lead through difficulty — and to step into the graduation session with genuine confidence. Each session runs 90 minutes with its own editable PowerPoint deck, manual pages, and activity sheets.
- 4.1Session 5 — 'Leaders Own It' (90 min | Day 5)Included
- 4.2Session 6 — 'Leaders Keep Going' (90 min | Day 6)Included
Session 7 — Graduation, Celebration & What's Next
The final session transforms everything children have learned into a moment of genuine pride and forward momentum. This is not a passive ceremony — it is an active celebration where children demonstrate their leadership, reflect on their journey, set a concrete personal goal for leading beyond the program, and receive their Young Leader Certificate. The session is structured so that children lead significant portions of it themselves, giving facilitators a final opportunity to observe leadership behaviours in action and complete the program's summative assessment. The module also includes the facilitator's pre-work lesson (run the day before) to ensure the graduation is seamless, and a post-program lesson on adapting the curriculum for different settings and continuing facilitator growth — closing the loop on the program's facilitator-development arc that began in Module 1.

Mohammad Mostafa
If you've ever stood in front of a group of kids thinking, "I really want to do something meaningful with them — but where do I even start?" — I built Young Leaders Lab for you.
Maybe you're a teacher who knows your students have more potential than any worksheet can unlock. Maybe you're a camp director who wants something structured and purposeful filling those long afternoon slots. Maybe you're a parent who's watched your child shrink back when they could be stepping forward, and you want to give them a real experience — not just a pep talk. Whatever brought you here, I understand the gap you're feeling: the desire to do something that sticks, combined with the very real worry that you're not "trained enough" to pull it off.
That's the problem I set out to solve. Young Leaders Lab isn't a loose collection of icebreakers or a vague framework you have to figure out on your own. It's a complete, facilitation-ready program — seven 90-minute sessions, a trainer's manual written with you over my shoulder at every step, editable slide decks for every session, and tracking tools that show you exactly how each child is growing. I wrote every timing cue, every discussion prompt, and every facilitation tip with one person in mind: a caring, capable adult who has never run a leadership program before and needs to feel genuinely ready.
The program takes kids on a real journey. They start by asking "Who is a leader?" — and discovering the answer is already inside them. They find their voice, build teams, wrestle with empathy and hard decisions, learn what it means to own a mistake and bounce back from one, and then they graduate. In front of people who cheer for them. That graduation moment — watching a seven-year-old walk up knowing they earned it — is worth everything.
You don't need a certificate in youth development to change how a child sees themselves. You need a great program, clear guidance, and the willingness to show up. I've taken care of the first two. Come and do the third — I'll be right there in the manual, every step of the way.
