Perfect for: Primary school learners in Zimbabwe in Grades 5, 6, and 7 (typically ages 10–13) following the ZIMSEC national syllabus. Also suitable for parents supporting their children's English at home, primary school teachers seeking supplementary classroom resources, and tutors preparing learners for the Grade 7 ZIMSEC examinations.

English the ZIMSEC Way — Structured, Relevant, and Built for Zimbabwean Learners
This course was designed specifically for primary school learners in Grades 5, 6, and 7 following the ZIMSEC national syllabus. Every lesson, activity, and exercise maps directly to the four core modules of the official curriculum: Listening & Observing, Speaking & Signing, Reading, and Writing. No guesswork, no filler — just focused learning that prepares children for end-of-year assessments and a lifetime of confident communication.
Why This Course Stands Apart
Many online English resources are built for British or American curricula, leaving Zimbabwean families to adapt foreign content to local exams. This course speaks the learner's language — literally. Examples, texts, and contexts are drawn from Zimbabwean culture, environments, and everyday life, making lessons immediately relatable. Learners don't just memorise rules; they understand why English works the way it does and practise skills they will actually use in class, at home, and in the community.
A Four-Module Journey to Language Mastery
Each of the four modules builds on the others. Sharp Listening & Observing skills feed into richer Speaking & Signing — where learners gain the confidence to present ideas clearly and respectfully. Strong Reading comprehension unlocks deeper thinking, while structured Writing practice turns thoughts into well-organised, correctly expressed pieces of work. Together, the modules mirror the exact competencies assessed in ZIMSEC Grade 7 examinations.
Ideal for Home-Learners, School Supplements, and Holiday Revision
Whether a parent wants to support their child's schoolwork at home, a teacher needs ready-to-use supplementary material, or a learner wants focused holiday revision before a big exam, this course delivers. Lessons are self-paced, clearly explained, and packed with practice exercises and model answers — giving every learner the tools to walk into any English test with confidence.

Renstay College
Hello, and welcome! I'm so glad your child — or you — has taken this step towards stronger English skills. I designed this course because I know how challenging it can be for Zimbabwean learners to find English resources that actually match what is taught and tested in our schools. So many materials out there are built for foreign curricula, leaving learners and parents to figure out what applies and what doesn't. I wanted to change that. This course follows the ZIMSEC primary syllabus for Grades 5 to 7, covering all four modules: Listening & Observing, Speaking & Signing, Reading, and Writing. Every lesson is grounded in the Zimbabwean context — the examples, the texts, and the practice questions will feel familiar and relevant, not foreign. My goal is simple: to give every learner the confidence, the skills, and the exam readiness they deserve. Whether you're a Grade 5 pupil just getting to grips with longer texts, or a Grade 7 learner pushing towards that important end-of-primary exam, there is something here for you. Let's get to work — and let's make English something to enjoy, not fear.
