Can you use your own Stripe or checkout with TeachClub?

Not directly — and here's the honest reason why. What you can do: sell through your own funnel on your own Stripe at any price, then enroll your buyers here.

Not directly — TeachClub's checkout is a package deal: card processing, refunds, disputes, and sales tax handled, and every student's ongoing AI teaching funded. But you don't have to use it: sell through your own funnel on your own Stripe at any price, then enroll buyers by email or CSV for a flat per-seat fee. Some teachers already run exactly that setup.

This question usually arrives from someone who already runs a funnel and likes their checkout exactly as it is. So here's the structure of the honest answer up front: no, you can't plug your Stripe into TeachClub's checkout — and yes, you can absolutely sell on your own Stripe and use TeachClub anyway. Two supported roads. Here's each one, and who belongs on which.

Road one: the built-in checkout (and what it actually is)

TeachClub's checkout isn't just a card form — it's a package deal where the platform acts as merchant of record. When your student pays, TeachClub processes the card, issues the receipt, answers the chargeback, files the sales tax, and — the part unique to this platform — funds that student's ongoing AI teaching: every lesson, quiz, and 2am tutor question for as long as they're enrolled. You keep 60% of each sale and never touch a line of payment infrastructure. That bundle is why an external Stripe can't be swapped in: the checkout's share is what pays for everything downstream of the sale.

Road two: your funnel, your Stripe, your price

If you want checkout control — your upsell stack, your order bumps, your pixel-perfect funnel, prices TeachClub's checkout doesn't dream in — keep it. Sell wherever and however you like, on your own Stripe, and use TeachClub as the fulfillment: after the sale, enroll the buyer into your school by email, and the AI takes over the teaching. The cost is a flat per-seat fee based on your school's listed price ($9 minimum per 30-day window) — not a percentage of your outside sale. On a $500 funnel sale into a $27 school, that's about $11 a month per student; the full math with worked examples is in the migration guide.

If you need to build that funnel first, one pointer and no hard sell: SuperCool is what we recommend for funnel-building, and buyers from it enroll here the same way as from anything else. Some teachers already run exactly this setup — premium funnel outside, AI school inside.

Two market stalls side by side: a full-service counter with a teller, and a craftsman's own stall with his own cashbox — both prosperous

Which road for whom

Take the built-in checkout if…Take your own funnel + Stripe if…
You don't have (or want) payment infrastructureYou already run a funnel and love your checkout
Your prices fit normal school pricing ($19–97 territory)You sell premium packages and bundles at prices you control
You want refunds, disputes, and taxes to be someone else's jobYou're comfortable being the merchant of record yourself
You'd rather never think about this againCheckout optimization is genuinely part of your edge

And it's not exclusive — the roads combine. Run the built-in checkout for your school's standard price and push premium buyers through your funnel with granted seats. Per student, per offer, your call.

The bottom line

"Can I use my own Stripe?" is really "who controls my money flow?" — and the answer here is: you choose per sale. Let the platform be your entire payment department, or keep your funnel sovereign and pay a flat fee for fulfillment and teaching. The one thing you can't do is bolt your processor onto our merchant account — and now you know exactly why, which is more than most platforms will tell you.

Quick answers

Can I connect my Stripe account to TeachClub's checkout?

No — the built-in checkout runs on TeachClub's merchant account because it bundles what that account pays for: processing, refunds, disputes, sales-tax handling, and each student's ongoing AI teaching. There's no Stripe Connect option today.

Can I sell my course through my own website and still use TeachClub?

Yes — that's a fully supported road: your funnel, your Stripe, your price. After a sale, enroll the buyer into your school by email (or CSV in bulk on Club) for a flat per-seat fee based on your school's listed price.

Why does TeachClub need a cut at all if I bring my own buyer?

The per-seat fee funds what happens after the sale: the AI teaches that student, answers their questions, and runs their account for the access window — costs that exist whether or not the sale happened on-platform.

Is there a webhook to auto-enroll buyers from my funnel?

Coming soon, not live yet. Today enrollment from an external funnel is manual or CSV — teachers doing volume batch it weekly. If automated enrollment is critical for you, tell the team on a call; that demand sets priorities.

Not sure it fits? Ask a human.
