The flow, start to finish
- A student clicks Enroll on your school's page and pays by card at your checkout.
- TeachClub processes the payment — the card charge, the receipt, and everything downstream: refunds, disputes, sales-tax handling. You are never the merchant of record.
- Your share accrues to your balance the moment the sale completes.
- Payouts go to your PayPal email — the one field you set on your Payments page.
That's the whole system. You never invoice anyone, never configure a payment processor, never file paperwork to start charging money on the internet — the part that stops most people before they start simply doesn't exist here.

The math, with a real example
Sales through the built-in checkout are a single split: you keep 60% of every sale. No transaction fee on top, no card-processing fee on top, no per-student fee on top — the split is the whole arrangement, and it also funds your students' ongoing AI teaching (every lesson they take costs real compute, and you never see that bill).
| Students | Student payments | Your share (60%) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | $81/mo | $48.60/mo |
| 10 | $270/mo | $162/mo |
| 25 | $675/mo | $405/mo |
| 100 (Teacher plan cap) | $2,700/mo | $1,620/mo |
Two things worth noticing in that table. First, the subscription pays for itself at your first student or two — the $27/month plan cost is covered by a single $27/month student with room to spare. Second, these are recurring numbers: a monthly-priced school earns from the same students every month they stay, which is why how you price matters as much as how many students you get.
The option most people miss: sell it yourself, at any price
The built-in checkout is one road, not the only road. If you already sell — a coaching package, a bundle, a premium offer on your own website — you can charge any price you want, anywhere you want, and simply enroll your buyers into your TeachClub school by email afterward. That route doesn't use the revenue split at all: it costs a flat per-seat fee based on your school's listed price, regardless of what you charged outside.
Concretely: sell a $500 package through your own funnel, enroll the buyer into your $27/month school here, and the seat fee is about $11 per 30-day access window — everything above it is yours. The full mechanics, worked examples, and honest fine print (the fee recurs while the seat stays active) are in the migration guide.
Setting up payouts
- One field: your PayPal email, on the Payments page. That's the entire setup.
- Sell before you set it? Nothing is lost — your balance accrues and waits until the email is added.
- Watching the money: your dashboard shows sales and your accrued earnings per school, so you always know where you stand.
Refunds, disputes, and the boring disasters
Running your own checkout means owning chargebacks, refund policies, and sales-tax questions across states and countries. On TeachClub those are the platform's problem: refunds are processed by the platform and come out of the sale's accrued share, disputes are answered by the platform, and tax handling is built into the checkout. It is genuinely difficult to get into payments trouble here, which — for a first online business — is worth more than most features.
The bottom line
You bring the knowledge and the students; the machine handles every dollar in motion. Keep 60% through the built-in checkout with zero payment work, or sell at your own price through your own funnel and pay a flat seat fee. Either way, the money question — the one that stops most people from ever starting — is answered before you begin.
